TSA writes: Monster Hunter fans have had to wait more than three years for a new entry in this power-selling franchise. With Monster Hunter Rise launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch this week, and with critics having now weighed in – read our Monster Hunter Rise review here – let’s look at which game is better: Monster Hunter Rise or Monster Hunter World?
MHHQ: Capcom insists on making Rathalos, the King of the Skies, a Monster Hunter mascot, but at this point, I believe he should step down.
He's been in most, if not all the games and is iconic to the series. I guess he can be considered the unofficial mascot but every game has its own unique monster as the poster boy.
MHHQ: A one of a kind action game that blends deliberate combat and comfy soundtrack, Monster Hunter is a series I never knew I wanted.
Because you had fun. I started Monster Hunter with my son on PSP 17 years ago. We put a ton of hours into the games since then. Never did I look back at any game I’ve sunk a lot of hours into and think, I might regret having all that fun.
TNS: Monster Hunter's previous games put the bar high, but Monster Hunter Wilds will bring big differences for every mechanic.
World for sure. Rise was made by the B team, and is on way inferior hardware. Just look at the environments in Rise and there's your answer.
I played World and have only played the Rise demo, but I really preferred the feel of Rise. I prefer the older feel of the series and rise felt like the older games with some great QOL updates that came from World. I'm excited to play the full game on Friday.
They're different. There's no objective answer- purely a matter of preference.
World is more grounded, closer in environments and action, with bombastic effects and cinematics/visuals (which I personally prefer) with a decent story by almost any standard.
Rise is more responsive and combat is more rapid, with more flexibility and freedom (from what I've observed), with a more stylized visual aesthetic, but with less story.
they both possess the great quality of life changes that made World much more accessible to new players and they benefit from it.
there's probably tons more differences that will become more apparent as more people get their hands on the full game (myself included), but again... this seems to be a matter of preference.
Generations
Ive played both. Rise demo alone is better than world. The games mad fun and cant wait for the full game
