I really wish they had the equivalent to DLSS 2.0 on next gen consoles. 4K is such as waste of resources

GaboonViper1396d ago

Hopefully they will, didn't Sony have a patent on some sort of DLSS for PS5 a couple months back.

ThinkThink1396d ago

Seies x does. Sony hasn't confirmed what they are using yet.

blackblades1396d ago

Sony hasn't confirmed much yet, which I wish they did already but I'll be patient.

Pricey1396d ago

Does it, great. Can you send me a link to the source for that?

Father__Merrin1396d ago

Yes absolutely it can look literally almost as good with added benefit that it's not using anywhere near as much resources which in turn you can start turning up AA settings to actually get a cleaner images

NeoGamer2321396d ago

Not for people that have 4K TVs.

And the reality is every one of these games should easily hit 4K and 60 FPS on the next gen consoles. This should be pretty effortless.

As for DLSS 2.0, it will happen over time. Just not the highest priority right now.

New version of AMD Image Sharpening and scalling is confirmed for RNDA 2 from Siggraph, but only on papers. https://youtu.be/J8i3mNxos3...

FinalFantasyFanatic1396d ago

I don't completely agree, but if 4k 60fps isn't possible then I'd like to choose from 1440p 60fps or 4k 30fps for most games.

FlavorLav011395d ago

Right! Or 4k unlocked if they wanna be generous and throw a 3rd option in there

Ju1395d ago

Not sure why Sony would not have any kind of upscaling. They have "invented" checkerboard rendering 4 years before DLSS and of course DLSS has caught up. What makes people think, Sony won't improve on their own algorithms?

you know you won't burst into a ball of flames for mentioning the Series X, right?

BrainSyphoned1396d ago

Because they were talking to Official PlayStation Magazine? Or maybe people who make games see the writing on the wall better than you do. Choose one or both of those options.

BillyG0AT1395d ago

I choose this "option"

"Last but not least, one of the biggest bones of contention when considering which format to play on is which looks and runs the best, but according to Jarniou, the aim is to get WRC 9 to 60fps and 4K fidelity on both Xbox Series X and PS5. He says, “This is what we’re aiming to achieve, and the first results are more than encouraging.” "

Stop trying to be smart

lets be real, without haptic feedback its probably not even worth playing

every road surface, every bump, every handbrake skid

WRC 8 was fantastic, but definitely needed some graphical optimization. It uses a huge amount of resources to get the game running at the highest settings. If they want to shoot for 60fps at 4K resolution, I really hope they worked hard on the optimization front. It's a fantastic goal to have, but I don't think it's going to come easy.

I'm hopeful that this is the goal for most developers. Now actually achieving a steady 60fps framerate is definitely going to be a challenge as developers push the hardware more and more.

Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower is my fave boss fight from Bloodborne, a flurry of brilliant swordplay was that fight that left me salivating.
