WTMG's Leo Faria: "All in all, Descenders surprised me in a very positive way. If anything, it’s a very unique concept, mixing downhill cycling, a Skate-inspired dual-stick trick system and some roguelike elements. Sure, it’s a bit ugly and a bit janky, but considering the disappointing lack of extreme sports games being released over the past few years, this is a very welcome breath of fresh air. You don’t even need to be a cycling enthusiast in order to enjoy it. I sure as hell am not one of those. If you’re just looking for a small but addictive sports game to keep you busy until the eventual release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, go for it. You could do a lot worse."
All playable May 2.
Guess they needed a boost to the player base for Legends, even after most stores reduced the price considerably after launch
Descenders, the sporting roguelike originally pitched as “Spelunky on bikes,” has a sequel on the way, though PCGamesN learns it won’t have a ‘2’ in the title.
What a terrible description, 'ultra-hard' would make me not want to play and isn't even true. The game is more about getting in the groove and feeling your way through the path.
Guessing they are adding multi-player and cross-platform support based on the video.
Neil writes: "Ever since the arrival of the next-gen consoles in the form of Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and that PlayStation 5, numerous games have been updated, enhanced and then fully optimised for the power of the new hardware. The latest game to take that route is Descenders, yet not only is it now coming in super shiny form, but a full physical release joins the usual digital option."
