Review: The Last of Us Part II - Hardcore Gamer

The Last of Us Part II delivers an emotionally raw story. It may go on a little too long, but its rousing themes and performances make it a gripping tale from start to finish. The world is larger, giving players more latitude over how they explore and engage with it. Combat too has been tightened up, providing more gameplay opportunities and variety. The entire package is wrapped together in a gorgeous presentation that serves as Naughty Dog’s PS4 swan song. The Last of Us Part II’s harrowing tale and exploration of violence may not leave everyone happy by the time the credits roll, but it’s another stunning home run for Naughty Dog.

This might be another Review Metacritic ignores for a couple days...

sushimama1768d ago (Edited 1768d ago )

It was already counted in Metacritic.

But don't worry, all the ridiculously pathetic losers out there will tell you that Sony has paid off this person and countless others around the world for giving the game a 10. Even paid off the people giving it a 9.5 or a 9. Because their scores can't possibly be legit, because the losers watched a playthrough and skipped forward to all the cutscenes and made up their mind because the VOCAL MINORITY are screaming and crying in rage and told them it is trash.

To you people who are saying that the reviews were bought by Sony... take a look at the days gone, the order 1866, knack, knack 2, killzone shadow fall, infamous second son and first light, far point, and drive club reviews on metacritic... and then shut the fuck up.

Right. I was just at a buddies who came to the FIRST major plot point and started crying about how they ruined the story and he doesn’t even want to play it anymore. Said he read online about how “everyone” says the story is trash and feminist bullshit. I tried telling him I’ve beaten it and didn’t get any of that. Like yeah the story wasn’t what I would have thought, but man after playing it and seeing the whole thing from every angle. God damn what a story. I thought it was as good as the first game. Just from a different view.

Sony probably paid more to reviewers to give high scores than they did on the marketing or production of the game itself.

It's a brilliant plan on Sony's part. Risk being called out for buying reviews, forever tarnishing the review scores for all their games going forward, just to have a game that is getting 10's almost across the board. Brilliant I tell you. But, it's a good thing we have those few...and I do mean few...sites out there, and YouTubers, who can tell us the real deal. Sony's money can only go so far, and if Sony were really smart, they'd pay off those thousands of people giving the game's zero's, because those are the people that everyone is going to listen to.

Oh, and all the above was sarcasm if it wasn't obvious.

Sony paid for all the 10/10 reviews and they also paid all the people buying the game to allow it to smash the sales record for PS too.

I love this game so much. It’s unbelievable to see how far this medium has come since my days of the original Mario.

The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered 2025 PC 4K (No DLSS) Incredible Forest Graphics

CG says: In this video, we take a look at the same forest section on horseback in The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered that we showcased in 2020 on the PS4 Pro. It’s an amazing bit of exposition with not much happening aside from a bit of banter. However, taking it slowly rather than galloping past, the forest graphics are actually pretty detailed. One of the more beautiful moments from the game. PS4 Pro version holds-up pretty well (that output was upscaled 4K and back then, there was no DLSS or AI interventions that we know about).
