The Last of Us Part 2 Review: Alone and Forsaken - Gamer Matters

A near-perfect game that will make people question if they are like it or not. The game looks amazing with engaging gameplay, but unfortunately with a disappointing storyline.

Near perfect yet 7.3? Who are these clowns? The game is a 95 Metacritic and you call it near perfect, yet a mediocre score?

VerminSC1777d ago

They’re willing to sacrifice their integrity for clicks. It’s pathetic

PaleMoonDeath1777d ago

Or it's simply how they feel about it? you.. haven't seen the leaks, I assume this is what troubled him and a few other reviewers, very curious time to read reviews.

I mean this is what you get when you go woke and ruin a beloved story

What? a 95-96 meta? I guess more people should then...

@mkis007
Game journalists tend to be located on the US west coast or in other big urban centers. Let's just say that their politics tend to lean strongly to the left and they likely won't have any problem with the messaging in this game.

But it's still going to alienate many people who otherwise would have enjoyed this game.

How do these articles get approved? I don't care about the score, but the review and the score don't match up at all. It's contradictory in every way.

This review is not worth reading 1/10!

PaleMoonDeath1777d ago

Actually, no. Just because it doesn't favour what you do, doesn't make it worthless.

Crueltylizer1777d ago

It has nothing to do with flavor at all.

If a reviewer gives content of a game 5/10 yet writes

"Naughty Dog does suggest to us to continue with New Game Plus to get all the game has to offer, and I feel most of you guys would want to play it for the second time, trust me."

How does that not contradict the rating? So the content is worth playing through a second time (replayability) yet the content is only worth a 5/10 rating? Really?

This is a badly done review nothing more nothing less.

PaleMoonDeath1777d ago

@Crueltylizer

He is conflicted by the plot, I hope you have not been spoiled otherwise you may have an inkling to his troubles. It will bother some, it won't others, this is the case of someone who did not like the plot. There is nothing wrong with this notion.

The last of us isn't exceptional because of it's gameplay which is rather standard, the plot and characters is the goldmine for many. If that does not deliver for someone it's a very troubling scenario if not mediocre. Perhaps he enjoyed the gameplay, but not the plot? this was a major controversy a month ago, many exploded.

Those unspoiled are about to go for a ride, whether they enjoy it or not they will not know. This is why every review is interesting, please note Sony gave strict instructions not to talk about the plot at a certain point or show footage from a certain chapter onwards. They are protecting the surprise, no one is right or wrong, it's a very exciting topic as of now!

There's always one turd in the punch bowl.

SegaGamer1777d ago

Or you just can't accept that somebody doesn't like something as much as you do.

This site is a joke, you fanboys are like this with EVERY exclusive. One minute you hate sites like IGN for giving a game on your preferred console a 7 (which isn't even a bad score) then you praise them when they give a 9 or 10. The hypocrisy I see on this site daily is laughable.

WickedLester1776d ago

Looking at your username I'm not surprised by your reply. Tell me, does it still grind your gears that Sony contributed to putting your precious Sega out of the console business?

SegaGamer1776d ago

@WickedLester.

"Tell me, does it still grind your gears that Sony contributed to putting your precious Sega out of the console business?"

No, not in the slightest, why would it annoy me? It's the best thing to happen from my point of view because now I get to play all of Sega's games on PC. Sega not making consoles is a win win from my point of view and I hope they never get back into making consoles.

All you had to do was look at my comment history and you would see that I have never fanboyed for Sega, unlike with you and Sony. Try it next time before making an ass out of yourself.

CaptainObvious8781776d ago

Or maybe he just doesn't like the beloved characters being sacrificed on the alter of bigoted wokeness?

PaleMoonDeath1777d ago (Edited 1777d ago )

I want to know more about the story, all have been told strictly not to talk about it and show footage from certain sections. Curious to see spoiler free reviews.

The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered 2025 PC 4K (No DLSS) Incredible Forest Graphics

CG says: In this video, we take a look at the same forest section on horseback in The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered that we showcased in 2020 on the PS4 Pro. It’s an amazing bit of exposition with not much happening aside from a bit of banter. However, taking it slowly rather than galloping past, the forest graphics are actually pretty detailed. One of the more beautiful moments from the game. PS4 Pro version holds-up pretty well (that output was upscaled 4K and back then, there was no DLSS or AI interventions that we know about).
