What many fans of the franchise look at as a turn for the worse in both gameplay and genre. Older school fans anyway. Newcomers ate it up.
Tbh resident evil 4 was one of my least favs resident evils. Definitely not gonna get my hopes up after how nemesis turned out. Here's my list from most liked to least.

And the games that aren't on this list, I disliked them so much that I wish they removed "resident evil" off their title.
Just finished up another full playthrough of RE4 recently and it's still one of the greatest games of all time, IMO.
