“Heavy Rain”, “Beyond: Two Souls” and “Detroit: Become Human” are getting physical PC releases

Quantic Dream and Koch Media have partnered together for the upcoming physical PC releases of the critically acclaimed games Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human in the Nordics, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Terry_B1616d ago

Will they be playable without the Epic Game Store Launcher?

TGG_overlord1616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

Good question, I sure hope so...But I will have to check with Koch Media.

PlayStation has no exclusives anymore...……..sniff.....sniff

CaptainCook1616d ago

No. Also, those games was on sale for about £5 each, I have already purchased them on the Epic Store.

Terry_B1616d ago

Ah..how good I got them all basically "free" via Playstation Plus already anyway.

CaptainCook1616d ago

@Terry_B

You actually paid a subscription fee to get them. No, they're not free with PlayStation Plus. Without PlayStation Plus you can't play them lol

TK-661616d ago

@Terry_B

Stop paying that fee and we'll see just how free it really was.

MajorLazer1616d ago

While not free, still feels like immense value. If you buy a years sub when it's on sale, it works out to like $3 a month which is nothing.

With BC becoming the standard now, the PS4 PS+ games that release and have released can be played anytime on the PS5/6/7 etc. as long as you have a sub. That's great value considering the offerings get better as the PS4 nears its end.

Wintersun6161615d ago

@CaptainCook You saw the quotation marks around the word free, right? So yeah you can stop beating that dead horse now. Or if you're so butthurt, yes, it's "free with PS+", as in WITHOUT ADDITIONAL PURCHASE FEE WITH PS+. Happy?

MadLad1616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

Wish I could get behind these games, but I find them monotonous chores, honestly. Slowly getting through Beyond, mainly due to my love for Ellen Page.

Amplitude1616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

Detroit is lightyears ahead of Beyond. Detroit was really amazing

Heavy Rain is also significantly better than Beyond aha. Make sure you try the other ones after!

I played through Beyond twice but that was it

TGG_overlord1616d ago

Nice =) And thanks for the advice ;) I'll give them a go for PC.

camel_toad1616d ago

I haven't played Detroit yet but you give me hope. Same opinion about Heavy Rain being much better than Beyond.

MadLad1616d ago

I tried both, honestly. They had them on PS Now, so I gave them a chance. I got bored of the mechanics of Heavy Rain almost instantly.
I took to Beyond a fair bit more, but eventually shelved it.

When Detroit hits PS Now/humble, I'll give it a shot. Just giving it the old college try, it's becoming clear I'm just not big on Cage's works.

Amplitude1615d ago (Edited 1615d ago )

@TheRealTedCruz

yeah thats fair man. Detroit is kind of a different beast entirely but it does still have its slow moments.
Ive always loved everything he's done since Indigo Prophecy but they arent without their issues. Heavy Rain's plot holes in particular.

All-in-all though i did have a ton of fun getting invested in the characters and playing around with the different story outcomes (Detroit is CRAZY with its branching paths) and they were all technical marvels for their time which you have to respect a bit. And even if the ending of HR is kinda crap its still fun getting to it

I dunno, all im saying is i get why people maybe dont like them but i love them all for reasons that i cant explain lmao

Profchaos1615d ago (Edited 1615d ago )

It's more graphically advanced but it's gameplay is still basically the same in lots of ways i prefer the story of beyond more.

I gave up on Detroit about half way through because the story just wasn't interesting in the same way that heavy rain and beyond captivated me I played through both in a day

TGG_overlord1616d ago

I get what you mean...I'm going to give them a try nevertheless (I also like the soundtracks).

Neo1111616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

It's funny how console exclusive games are prised by fanboys as the best ever. Then they come to PC and reviewers/gamers don‘t see anything special :) https://www.pcgamer.com/hea...

bishup251616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

for it's time i would imagine. just like movies games are at times made with concepts and writing for their time periods.

Wintersun6161615d ago

Heavy Rain metacritic scores: PS3 87, PS4 78, PC 75
Graphics were way above average in original release on PS3, explains the higher score. Yes people are suckers for graphics.

Beyond: Two Souls: PS3 70, PS4 72, PC 76

Detroit: Become Human: PS4 78, PC 79

You were saying?

CaptainObvious8781615d ago (Edited 1615d ago )

I find Ellen Page insufferable now after the whole Jessie Smollett sage and her disgusting self righteous rant on one of the leftist propaganda late night talk shows.

I really try to separate the art from the artist, but when it comes to sexist, racist regressive celebrities that don't know what they're talking about I find it very hard.

bishup251615d ago (Edited 1615d ago )

I do agree with this statement. at the time of Ellen's comment she was unaware of the farce. which eventually back fired at her. there is no denying though that her comment which i thought was very disrespectful to Stephen Colbert on his show. which made the mistake of selecting a well known comedian and showmen to deliver a shock SJW message. very disrespectful and at the cost of effecting her own credibility.

Heavy rain only issue was the weird control for walking. Wish they changed that on the ps4. Great games from a great developer

TGG_overlord1616d ago

Really? I wonder what the PC controls are like then? And I'm sorry to hear it :S Well, I'm about to find out for PC ;)

Cmv381615d ago

My implication was that the controls im sure won't be an issue on pc with the ability to mod if necessary.

Donnie811616d ago

They should bring them to Xbox and switch. Detroit is amazing

RazzerRedux1616d ago

About as much chance of that happening as Ryse or Quantum Break coming to PS.

BehindTheRows1616d ago

Nope. PC and PlayStation. That's as far as any PlayStation owned property will go.

Donnie811615d ago

Tell that to mlb the show

BehindTheRows1615d ago (Edited 1615d ago )

MLB: The Show, an exception, with a licensing stipulation. What are the other Sony owned franchises coming to other platforms that aren't PC? Just accept it. Want to play PlayStation games? Buy a PlayStation or, for the occasional game, build a PC.

gamer78041616d ago

Heavy rain and Detroit are amazing, stand the test of time.

Yes, that's Kara in season 4 of The Boys

Been watching season 4 of The Boys and find Firecracker's face familiar? As a gamer, where you know her from might surprise you.

I did have one of those "where do I know her from...?" feelings.
It's funny how a different hair style changes a person. I saw some pictures of her with short or blond hair and it made me remember Kara, but making her a redhead AND with long hair, just bugged my brain.
Here's hoping her character survives until the end of the show (even though her character is a horrible person).

just_looken37d ago

No doubt homelander will get pissed and show her his appreciation.

Episode 3 i was expecting a bitch slap death but it never happened he was zoned out then.

Would it not buy the boys still comedy she fight's back with that lame finger snap power he is like bitch really then just takes her out with one hit LOL

bloop37d ago

Thank you. Couldn't remember who Kara was and was too lazy to open article.

Tankbusta4037d ago

The only image from the show in my mind is the multiplying dudes eating each others butts in the sauna

VariantAEC37d ago

Valorie Curry is her name... not sure why that's not even in the short summary. Why is this gaming news though?

ZeekQuattro37d ago

I couldn't for the life of me remember what I remembered her from and then I saw The Tick in her acting credits. That's why she looked so familiar. I loved that short lived Amazon show.

That's great. Quantic Dream took everything they learned from their past games and built the most refined, coherent and interesting game and story yet. I even bought it on both PS4 and PC.

Seraphim555d ago

I preferred Beyond Two Souls. Still, Detroit was an exceptional experience just like Heavy Rain. Definitely happy to see the game has sold well over the years.

Fist4achin555d ago

Beyond was outstanding. Their other games were great, but BTS was my favorite so far.

CrimsonIdol555d ago (Edited 555d ago )

It took them nearly 5 years to accomplish that compared to a game that's just come out. Willing to bet a majority of those sales were heavily discounted too. Quantic Dream games were always heavily spruiked by Sony as exclusive graphical showpieces for the Playstation, so I'm sure that helped out too.

For reference the original Dead Space sold 2 Million over its lifetime, so some new IP from a new studio approaching that in its first year or so really isn't that bad.

sagapo555d ago

Great game, really enjoyed this one.
