73gb

So the game is 73gb and may span 2 discs but people were worried the game was episodic and somehow not a full game at launch?

Make no mistake, FFVII Remake will be a full game when it releases, but the story and world have been expanded and will be told through multiple iterations that will essentially act as sequels aka new AAA releases years later.

Doge1998d ago

...You just described what the game is while saying it isn’t.

Exvalos1998d ago

Think mass effect, each entry was it's own stand alone game but all 3 together made for one over arching epic adventure. That's what square enix is going for.

Teflon021997d ago

just because a story will expand across multiple games doesn't mean nots NOT a full release. They're expanding the game to the point the midgar section is its own game. That's fine by me honestly. No issue at all. Only people crying don't understand how unrealistic what they're asking is. Unless you want a carbon copy. Which you can just get mods on pc for since the game can run on a onion lol

isarai1998d ago

And where's you evidence to support this claim? Cause last thing they stated was that it would in fact be episodic, they have yet to say otherwise. Still referring to it as episodic as late as june 11th of this year.

fr0sty1998d ago

That doesn't mean each episode shouldn't be considered a "full game".

TakashiKomuro1998d ago (Edited 1998d ago )

Every episode is a full game, probably more than a full game. Most games are 10-15 hours worth. Expecting this to be 25+ per episode.

And yeah, every episode is it's own game just like every Star Wars is it's own movie.

thejigisup1998d ago

Sounds like komuro-san have watched the clone wars

MADGameR1998d ago

And you already know that SONY will sign a 1 year exclusive deal with Square Enix for EACH part of FFVII Remake

deadfrag1998d ago (Edited 1998d ago )

So like you say.....its not the full game! The fact thats 70gb+ dont mean nothing.....does 70gb most likely are due to 4k textures for future PS5 backwards.

I really want a demo for this

excaliburps1998d ago

And it seems we're getting one! From the leaks, I'd say we're getting it in January, too! :D

Spoilers

Damn. Feels like a historic moment.

That intro sequence gave me goosebumps. They managed to put in the one winged angel motif in the opening somehow. Why they gotta do Aerith dirty like that? Why is everyone so mean to her T_T.

FinalAeonX1998d ago (Edited 1998d ago )

It's been a long time coming. The reunion is soon at hand. FFVII fans tread carefully. Not for the faint of heart.

FinalAeonX1998d ago (Edited 1998d ago )

Won't be playing the demo. It's gonna spoil too much and have already been spoiled too much watching this. The demo is the full bombing mission - infiltration, boss fight and escape. I'd rather go in fresh.

Fraggle19871998d ago

The ff7 intro is just incredible. Still probably the best intro to a game ever.

FinalAeonX1998d ago

Agreed. Gets straight to action! Gets you pumped while setting the scene and story simultaneously!

GOULDYBOBS1998d ago

I'm probably swayed by nostalgia but the sound track is what makes it for me

Dwarrior1998d ago

I hope this nostalgia trip isn't being done in place of FFXVI. They messed up XV pretty bad, and I'd like to see them correct their course.

FinalAeonX1998d ago (Edited 1998d ago )

Heck no. This has been in production since 2014. FFXV wasn't even finished then. FFXVI wasn't even a thought to them at that point.

Yeah. That’s the first I’ve seen it anywhere near #1.

Mario 64 is great but I wouldn’t put it over Mario World.

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list is a crime.

CUnit123123107d ago

Sorry lol. I wrote the article but 5 of us voted for many different games and majority went on the list then we worked on the list. If it were just my personal top favorite we'd seen some xenoblade and star ocean as well as some others. Thanks for checking out it!

RavenWolfx105d ago

Chrono Trigger at 31 makes my heart hurt.

Zeldafan64105d ago

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list at all is a crime.

This Guy Rebuilt The Original Final Fantasy 7 In LittleBigPlanet 2, And It's Awesome

Nearly 27 years after the original game's release, Final Fantasy 7 superfan Jamie Colliver has finished his magnum opus: A shot-for-shot remake of the original PlayStation 1 game, created entirely via LittleBigPlanet 2. Colliver's remake reimagines the original game as a platformer, with every scene, every location, every line of dialogue, and every song from the game's OST painstakingly implemented .

The effort here is impressive. Hope it doesn’t get taken down.

fr0sty317d ago

He should have done it in Dreams though, the limitations of having done it in LBP are obvious.

solideagle317d ago

ah Dreams had so much potential, I think they should have released it on PC. one can only dream about dreams sale and popularity on PC. PC has modding/creative crowd and I think it would have been a hit

gleepot316d ago

I love seeing projects like this. So much passion and time.
