Thanks to a weekly release of titles, the Xbox Live Arcade library is quickly growing to include a number of coin-op classics such as Ms. Pac-Man, Frogger and Galaga, as well as some newer releases including AstroPop and Lumines Live!. Many of these games are fantastic recreations of their arcade counterparts, but one of the most common criticisms regarding their gameplay has to do with the D-Pad on the Xbox 360 controller being, well, awful.
Thanks to the fact that the default Xbox 360 controller has one of the worst D-Pads anyone has ever played, many of Xbox Live Arcade's games are somewhat frustrating to play since they don't quite seem to have the feel we'd hope for. Hoping to give Arcade gamers a solution for this, well-known hardware manufacturer MadCatz has developed their version of a classic-style arcade controller designed specifically for the Xbox 360.
TeamXbox recently spent a weekend checking the MadCatz Arcade GameStick out to see how well it fared.
IGN : How does the new The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, released in 2025 for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PS5, compare to the original 2006 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion released on Xbox 360, played via Xbox Series X/S Backwards Compatibility?
Original Destiny artist Darren Bacon recalls how Bungie reacted to the art style change of Halo 4 by 343 Industries.
Bungie at that time became the most wonderful bunch of hypocrites in the gaming industry. Knowing this now, gosh the entitlement they felt was out of this world.
Nothing like buying yourself from Microsoft because you don't want to be the Halo Studio anymore, and the FIRST THING you do is sign your next IP over to Activision, for a DECADE, while they are in the middle of ousting the heads of Infinity Ward so they can exert even more control over COD while screwing out the devs at IW...
Should've come as no surprise then that Activision gutted the content of Destiny 1 before launch and was a horrible partner through Destiny 2, until history repeated itself and Bungie had to split from Activision only to wind up in the arms of another major conglomerate that also doesn't know how to handle these unmanageable devs.
I liked the artstyle change. For the most part. Something looked worse but most of everything else looked better. Weapons and vehicles for sure. The wraith come to my mind instantly.
And how can they get mad when the bungie changed it with Halo Reach?
I know a lot of people dislike Halo 4’s arts style, but there’s thing about it I like and dislike. Personally, the Halo 4 design of Master Chief’s armour is my favourite depiction of the character’s armour.
Double Fine Productions’ masterful Psychonauts turns 20 and it’s still as insightful today as it was back when it was new.
post your opinions. It looks interesting.
I just dont know if I can justify the price of this thing ($60 bucks) but it does look interesting
but it looks alright. At least it matches the 360 feel. Though I think it has too many buttons for a joystick. I mean if you're only going to use it for old arcade games, why the thumbstick and extra analog pad. With the joystick that's three ways to move, overkill?
and it shoul have placed a 6 button configuration instead of only 4. Still can't see how this will help with SF2.
I'm really glad I bought the Hori DOA 4 joystick last year... it's AWESOME for arcade games that demand an 8 point joystick. Unfortunately, I don't think it's for sale anymore...
