Be cheaper on ps now via pc
Also looks and plays worse in comparison to this.
*Limited to 720p via PS Now streaming
Streaming input lag vs playing it directly off your own machine.
Needs to be remastered PS4/X1
Exactly, Konami needs to get their act together and make this happen, but I would include PC in this aswell.
Yes absolutely PC too
Konami pretty much killed that franchise. Metal Gear Survive and their $10 for a save slot.
What a game..
What a boring movie*.
it is on psnow but still wont run from ps3 disc pissed at that
Why are you pissed at that?
Because streaming currently provides a vastly inferior experience to running the game natively.
TK-66 Then buy a PS3. It's literally impossible for the PS4 to play PS3 games natively. It's been that way since it launched. You need to get over it.
@Mr_Writer85 "You need to get over it." 90% of my multiplats are bought for PC, so I never have this issue. But if you believe new gamers should be required to purchase multiple predecessors in the PlayStation system family to play old games then, quite frankly, I think you don't care about the preservation of the art form.
TK-66 This was the first none BC playstation. Sony made a choice, BC or price. 100m+ PS4 sold says they made the right call. Also PSNow is a preservation of the artform. Means you can play the game without the original console and disc.
People love to make excuses that this game would be "too hard to port on PS4" because "it was coded specifically for PS3's cell processor." Which honestly is a load of bunk. Plenty of other initially PS3-exclusive games were also "coded specifically for PS3's cell processor" such as the Uncharted and Last of Us Games, or God of War 3. Yet they ported over incredibly well onto PS4. The only issue stopping this game coming to PS4 (or PS5) is that Konami is a shite company and doesn't care about anything other than Pachinko and Pachislot. And that's where these great PC emulation coders come in, doing the right thing, because Konami won't.
Think you have your wires crossed here. I can't say I ever read anyone on here say this game can't be remastered (which is what happened with uncharted and God of war). I have read plenty of reasons why the PS3 version can't be patched to play on PS4 and it's pretty obvious why. Because it was coded for the cell which is why PS3 games are not compatible with the PS4 because PS3 emulation is simply not possible on the PS4.
Wires aren't crossed, many people around the internet such as Reddit and other places have made such comments. You may not have seen the comments, but I have. Of course a PS3 game can not be "patched" to work on PS4. No one said it was feasible. People were making excuses for why the game can't be ported to PS4, due to how it was "coded specifically for PS3's cell processor." Again, if you haven't seen those comments, keep in mind that I have.
@kernel. I am yet to see any of these hackers get any game running on the PS2 emulator via disc. As it's simply not possible. Also you do have a choice not to buy them so no one is being "forced".
Huh played the hell out of this in 2008 I've moved onto other games
I'm happy to hear that. Emulation is the best solution for videogames preservation.
Nope, native backwards compatibility is the "best" solution. Emulation is the next best thing.
Emulation is never as good as a native product especially on newer games
U obviously never used dolphin or pscx2
Emulation has made games better in so many examples.
I'm glad I still have this as a download on my PS3. One thing that pisses me off though, is that I beat this game twice, with the last time being on Big Boss Hard difficulty, but this was all before they came out with trophies for the game. So now, If I wan the trophies, I guess i'll have to play it again, but this time, I think i'll play through them all in chronoligic order. Just did the same with Mass Effect 1,2, & 3 not long ago.
So wouldnt that be 3, 5, 1, 2 and 4?
Yes, and Peace Walker too.
