100% better than the crappy MGS5
I need a MGS4 remake so bad...one of my top 10 games of all time... MGSV was not a crappy game, it was a great game with some of the best gameplay mechanics seen to that day, even if it was rushed out.
MGSV should of ended at chapter 1 boss fight then no one would of moaned lol was the only chapter that was finished properly
I've never wanted to agree and disagree with someones comment so much in all my time here lol. MGS4 is absolutely a top 10 game of all time but MGSV was pretty bad. If it had not had MGS in the name it would of reviewed at 6s and 7s. Easily the worst mainline MGS game in the series.
oh come on. MGS5 is the weakest in terms of story but gameplay wise its second only to MGS3 Even as is MGS5 is better than most games out
Gameplay-wise MGS V is even better than MGS 3 man. Way better.
But but the Cell is too hard thats why no BC for Ps4 pro 😂 yeah right here we have it a team without the extensive knowledge of the ps3 architecture that sony has in possession of has unlocked framerate 4K in MGS4, But y’all believe whatever Microsoft,Sony and Nintendo tell ya, Theres absolutely no reason why the Ps4 cant run ps2 games thats just insane and for the Ps4 to be the first Playstation to not play ps one game is just a middle finger to people like me who grew up with Playstation was a Playstation underground kid looked forward to my demo disc of games, I still have ps one games that I like playing Soul Reaver,Twisted Metal 2, Tomb Raider 2, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil 2 Daul Shock vers, Dino Crisis 2,MGS,Sython Filter, Madden 2001 😂
Cool story bro!👍
I'm glad you appreciated it and everyone commenting thanks for your input, but Movefasta1993 made an very interesting point you need those specs to run it at 4k 60, but what about 720p 30 on a ps4. I still reckon of sony got a team of dedicated coders they could have done it. I agree but let's say they couldn't just to move on to the vastly weaker generational 6 console not being supported was definitely a [email protected] you stated Except it DOES, just not natively. Indeed, Sony has a PS2 emulator on PS4, but PS4 doesn't recognize DVDs. And if you didn't know that, you're seriously out of your depth in this conversation. DarXyde put a DVD in your ps4 enjoy the movie thank me later
@bluebenjamin It's taken how many years to get this one game optimised on vastly superior hardware? If you have proof that the PS4 can play PS3 games via emulation then please provide it.
"BSoD Gaming used an i7 8700k at 5.0Ghz with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti. " There's your answer, ps4 is no where near those specs. Clearly after ps3 Sony was hurting money wise and needed to make their next system to max profits and with that removed bc options. Luckily next gen ps5 has bc with ps4 and possibly rumored with ps1,2 and 3 as well, but we'll see.
you need those specs to run it at 4k 60, but what about 720p 30 on a ps4. I still reckon of sony got a team of dedicated coders they could have done it.
Yeah, and rpcs3 has one or two full time coders...Sony could have done easily. There is no excuse for this with PS5. They need to deliver this.
Sony was hurting moneywise at the end of ps3 and needed to make their next system to max profits? Lmao so why did Microsoft go the route they did?
"BSoD Gaming used an i7 8700k at 5.0Ghz with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti." You have to understand that the system this is working between 20-60fps on 4K is around 3x the PS4 Pro GPU power, and the CPU difference is probably more than ten fold advantage for the i7 compared to the Jaguar CPU, plus the faster and bigger RAM and VRAM. And these emulators need a lot from CPUs. So roughly, you'd need around 5-8 PS4Ps to run this, because the CPU has more importance here. Even if devs had access to the source code and hardware, it cannot make up the difference. Yes, maybe in 1080p, but it would make more sense to just translate the code and do a remaster in 4K. Which is why we had more remasters than ever before from the previous gen. The next gen Ryzen in PS5 could run PS3 games through emulation, sure, but not PS4 gen consoles, ever. Even on PS5 each game would need a lot of attention due to cell architecture, you can't just brute force games like MGS4 and hope it's going to be 4K 60fps magically. Also, PS5's GPU is allegedly slightly less powerful than GTX 1080ti which is used here, however, it won't have much of an impact if it's done through emulation.
The PS5's GPU will be a LOT less powerful that a GTX 1080Ti.
@esemce a lot less powerful but 4k60fps with ray tracing?
The fact that they getting a game from 06-07 running this great in 2019 should tell you all you need to know about the difficulties of the cell processor.
"But but the Cell is too hard thats why no BC for Ps4 pro 😂 yeah right here we have it a team without the extensive knowledge of the ps3 architecture that sony has in possession of has unlocked framerate 4K in MGS4" Oh boy... you know, it's pretty hard to emulate a console with a higher clock speed. "Theres absolutely no reason why the Ps4 cant run ps2 games thats just insane" Except it DOES, just not natively. Indeed, Sony has a PS2 emulator on PS4, but PS4 doesn't recognize DVDs. And if you didn't know that, you're seriously out of your depth in this conversation. "I still have ps one games that I like playing Soul Reaver,Twisted Metal 2, Tomb Raider 2, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil 2 Daul Shock vers, Dino Crisis 2,MGS,Sython Filter, Madden 2001 😂" Ok.
Cant recognize DVDs? Tell me more about this lol cant recognize DVDs the shit people say on here amazes me
jukins, Yes. PS4 only "recognizes" it as an unsupported format. Thus, it does not recognize it.
I play DVDs all the time . . .
Blue So much wrong In one comment. Sony offered BC with ps3 yet it made very little difference And these guys are running this game on great gaming pc which ps4 isn't equal too
Lmao what a divvy
PS4 almost certainly couldn't straight up emulate PS3 games like this powerful PC is doing. However if someone bothered to port the games over to run natively on PS4 then sure, it'll run fine, a lot better in fact just like all the other PS3 to PS4 ports out there. I can't stress enough the difference between emulation like this and full porting like say The Last of Us remastered. In one case (emulation) you're trying to run many of the complex unique hardware functions of the CELL in software which is very slow. In the other you're bringing all those functions across and recompiling/recoding the game by using the original source code to make them work on new hardware which is much faster for performance. PS4's CPU is just not fast enough to emulate via software.
Tell me what spec PC their using to get these results and then com back and tell us how the ps4 can so easily do this
Dosent have to be 4K 60 that PC achieved 4K not asking PS4 to produce 4K and also explain why your ps2 disc wont play in the Ps4 when a basic PC with lower spec can run Ps2 with better rez,aa,textures and framerates please explain
Lol so you're saying PC can run ps2 games natively? Wow
@Jukins Are you saying it cant play ps2 dvd disc y’all obviously 🙄 dont have PC https://youtu.be/Of6XWqGxki... What your Ps4 refuses to do all thanks to Sony
Pretty sure it could run that well on the ps4. The game is rather old. A remaster would be great.
Just make the PS5 read all other Plastation consoles and we are done, would but it day one.
Since Konami refuses to make any more decent MGS games, how bout they remake MGS. They would sell like crazy
Finally the cell’s true power unleashed
MGS4 was the only MG game that captured my interest & I enjoyed playing.
I wonder if the PS5 can emulate the PS3 like this. Is the PS5 as strong as the PC that they used to emulate MGS4?
Uh do some research. The PS5 gpu is rumoured to be near rtx2070. The PC community was becoming nervous it would near rtx2080 levels up until last week.
Asking the question in a forum / discussion board is my research.
Wow. I can't believe how far the emulator has come!
