Producer and Chief Creative Officer Toshihiro Nagoshi presented a new video related to the upcoming mainline Yakuza game for PlayStation 4.
Sega has been holding auditions for the role of supporting actress in the upcoming mainline Yakuza game for PS4, and today they revealed the finalists.
Yakuza's creators talk about the possibility of a Switch port of the Yakuza games (it's not considered for now), mention that they're considering Steam and other formats for Judgment, talk about the new Yakuza game for PS4, the ports of the old games, and more.
It's that time of the year. To be precise it's April 1 in Japan, so local developers have started dropping their bombs.
I wouldnt be surprised tbh if this turned out to be a legit thing in the game like they have done with the last couple of Yakuza games for the side character stories
I sort of wish people didn't feel the need to spoil everything instantly. "APRIL FOOLS JOKE REVEALED IN THIS NEW VIDEO!" Just put it out and let the community marinate it on for a few days like the old days of magazines, before the internet.
I understand your point of view, but if we didn't, others would complain that they've been misled.
And I'd rather spoil a joke (which is still funny anyway) than mislead.

But this whole mislead thing does sound a bit a long the lines of the outrage culture we have going at the moment.
One of the best things about April Fools jokes of this nature, is that it leaves people guessing if its an april fools joke, or if it's real. It's gone both ways in the past. Sometimes its obvious, other times, not so much. If it's made known to be a joke from the get go, it's not really a joke, as you're skipping the joke, and going right to the reveal.
Lol that actually looked really good. The team should work on some kind of fantasy game with all those effects they can do.
Are we sure this is an April fool? I know it goes onto the date at the end, but there's a PC/Mobile game on the way which could most likely be this game, or this could be a mode in the new PS4 main game. Seems a bit too elaborate and polished for a joke...
The UI is very rough, pretty obviously made in spare time for the prank, and the title of the video to "simulate" a leak is pretty obvious.
The assets are most probably from Shin Yakuza, and possibly a mix of other Dragon Engine games, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 6, and Judgment.
I don't expect this to become a real minigame, but I expect some of it assets to be real from Shin Yakuza.

Off Topic: Has there been any news at all recently about localizing the remasters of 3, 4, and 5? Sega was on a roll with these, and now its been nothing but radio silence.
