This looks so damn cool. Glad it's not exclusive so I can play it on PS4.

TengHu2198d ago

Feels a tiny bit Souls-like. I'm liking it. Can't wait to play this!

Stanjara2198d ago

This game looks fantastic!

SyntheticForm2197d ago

I agree; it looks quality. From that game play, it looks like a match for the upcoming third 'and' first party exclusives. The narrative is interesting, and it looks fun.

What was a blip on my radar is now a permanent spot.

Hardiman2198d ago

Really digging Control. Love the art direction and colors and the subject matter is very interesting! I love folklore, curses and the occult so I can't wait to play it.

Alan Wake was the last Remedy game that I played and I loved that game, so I really excited to delve into Control.

SyntheticForm2197d ago

I loved Alan Wake; think it was leagues above Quantum Break which was their last game. Alan Wake was so atmospheric and tense - really enjoyed the setting, game play, and the fantastic story.

Control looks like a total comeback for Remedy right now.

Hardiman2197d ago

Couldn't agree more and I haven't played QB but I did watch streams on it and it looked like a step back from AW IMO.

Alan Wake though was everything I wanted and more! Loved the narrative, the characters and especially the setting. I love the Pacific Northwest and I really enjoy games set there such as Alan Wake and Days Gone.

Control though looks completely different but because the occult is involved the Oldest House is so much more.

Looks good. I'm liking it

How the Remedy Connected Universe does the multiverse right

ScribbleCat said: Media is certainly no stranger to connecting all their properties together. Comic books have been doing this for generations, and TV is also known for special crossover episodes, which confirm the notion that they take place in the same fictional world. Video games, which can be barely called a new medium at this point, also have some interesting overlaps with connecting different games. For example, Valve’s Portal and Half-Life show how subtle hints can give players more theories to chew on. Old classics like DOOM and Wolfenstein also share similarities. But my favorite connection between games is the Remedy Connected Universe. While only a connection between Alan Wake and Control have been confirmed, there is SO much more to explore with Remedy’s crazy take on this old formula. And, according to Sam Lake, this is only the beginning.

They really should release the full Quantum Break experience on the PS5. Sure, it's a middle-of-the-road third-person shooter and a perfect example of self-indulgence, but why not? It was fun in short burst and it completes the Remedy set until Max Payne 1+2 Remakes get released later on.

Do it, Microsawft. Don't be cowards.

eh?
They better not mess much with the Max Payne Remake(s)

Yui_Suzumiya214d ago

Yeah but this was announced before the Max Payne Remake after all

LucasRuinedChildhood214d ago (Edited 214d ago )

What does "unlocking some previously released content" actually mean though? I would imagine it should be "previously unreleased content". Bit odd.

DaReapa213d ago

Right. Especially since the Ultimate Edition supposedly contained everything.

raWfodog214d ago

I only played about an hour of Control when I added it to my library back when it was one of the PS+ ‘free’ games. I’ll start it over again after the early 2025 update is dropped. I keep hearing that it’s a good game.

jznrpg214d ago

You can make that statement for any game. It’s called gameplay loop. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same loops but all games are repetitive by nature

RedDevils213d ago

Agree it was very boring game. Could not get into it. Remember me the game I played on PS3 is still better than this.

Chocoburger214d ago

These days "RPG" translates to constantly grinding for experience points, wasting time upgrading gear, and repeatedly collecting resources off the ground.

Please don't be an Ubishit style filler game.

Yui_Suzumiya214d ago

Hopefully it'll be more like Mass Effect

Amplitude214d ago (Edited 214d ago )

Remedy doesn't really make mistakes. It'll be good, I'm sure.

Inverno214d ago

So in other words it's an action game needlessly fluffed out with RPG mechanics and a pointless leveling system. I really enjoy RPGs when they're actually RPGs but modern action games really tire me out when they shoehorn in mechanics they don't need. All this does is make a 20 hour game into a 40 hour game because missions become locked behind level requirements, and enemies become damage sponges. It's not fun, it's tedious.

Remedy is leaving Epic in the dark place to self-publish Control 2

Remedy will self-publish Control 2 as part of a new "strategic cooperation agreement" with Annapurna. A press release accompanying the announcement says Annapurna will provide half of Control 2's development budget, and in return gains the rights to adapt Control and Alan Wake for film and television.

Devs backing EPIC didn't last long. I just can't understand why ... /s

porkChop296d ago (Edited 296d ago )

This isn't about the store. Epic published the game on all platforms. They want to self publish because they couldn't recoup Alan Wake 2's budget.

Killer2020UK296d ago

...because Epic chose to restrict its PC release to the Epic store and completely restrict it's physical release until later this year.

Vits296d ago

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

RaidenBlack296d ago

Dang, nice ... Alan Wake II is an amazing game
Can't wait for Control 2 and Max Payne Remakes

DustMan296d ago

Not sure why your getting down voted because you found Alan Wake 2 amazing. I'm in the same boat as you. Can't wait for Control 2 & the Max Payne remakes. Max Payne 1 & 2 were some of my favorite pc games from my early teens lol.

RaidenBlack295d ago

Coz N4G logic.
You cant praise a game if its got no physical release, not releasing on PS etc

isarai296d ago

Maybe this time we'll actually get a day 1 physical release

JEECE296d ago

And hopefully Steam/GOG options on PC.
