Resident Evil 2 remake had multiple Tyrants, that's why Mr. X was everywhere

Our theory is that there had to be multiple Mr X. in Resident Evil 2 remake. Read why it makes sense that there was more than one Tyrant.

I wonder if Resident Evil 3 remake will have multiple Nemesis

I always saw Nemesis as the ultimate creature from them at the time...I think he's a one off thing although I suppose they could always add a Mr X, or an altered version of him in Resident Evil 3, maybe even the same one hunting Claire and Leon.

Would be nice to see Capcom crossing them over a bit considering they are in the same time frame, even if you just saw a glimpse of Leon/Claire/Ada/Sherry

The Nemisis is the reason we need a RE3 remake. Him stalking you just saying “Stars” was creepy as hell. Then he would go from walking after you to bolting at you like a cheetah.

As far as we know, there is only one Mr X in the RE2 REmake, there is no indication at all that Umbrella dropped off multiple ones. Different events happen in the different scenarios, Spoilers follow,

In Claire's run, after MR X is killed by Birkin, you never see another MR X again in Claire's scenario. You can wander the police station forever, he is gone. In Leons scenario, MR. X is simply not killed by the van explosion, just incapacitated and then you do see him again later on.

My only real gripe with this explanation is that Mr. X's clothes are completely intact after being blown up

That is the one interesting detail but could just be as simple as an oversight by Capcom.

Just because Capcom coded the game in a way that the Tyrant doesn't actually walk around the map, and only shows up near you doesn't mean multiple tyrants are around.

This is a game people, not real life, there is only what the developer put it in, there are no coincidences.

Now if Capcom says otherwise, that's a different story.

I think the canon story in the original there were 6. So it makes sense for it to carry over in the remake.

That's the problem with having him constantly on your heels. Whats worse is when you figure how easy it is to dupe him. Not to mention if he whiffs a punch, you got time to take a smoke break before he gets back to pursuing you.

Except that Mr. X starts out wearing a hat, and until you shoot it off, it's always there. And once you shoot it off, it never comes back. This basically confirms that there is canonically only one tyrant in RE2.

No lol. Capcom decided not to have an AI programmed constantly throughout the entire experience. There are chances it could break, or take up too many resources of you're too far away, so they probably just made it so that it spawns in at certain checkpoints.

Insofar as story, only one of the campaigns is canon. Pick one lol. They wanted you to experience G and Mr. X regardless of which character you were playing. It would be like saying that there are two Burkins, since Leon and Claire both fought him in the same place, and both knocked him off the ledge. It would have taken away from the game if you went through an entire playthrough without seeing them, is all. It may have been too difficult for them to keep continuity between both characters and still stay true to the original story, while preserving their vision for the experience. There are always concessions in creating. They perhaps could have made 4 completely different campaigns, having the b routes take significantly different paths and progression, but that sounds like a massive undertaking they probably didn't want to invest in.

Or there are spawn points near you,.. It can even glitch,.. and spawn 2,.. I am sure it is actually not there when you don't see it,.. it is not like independent object tracking and calculating your character's position,.. that would be stupid and probably glitch prone.

Well considering one of the CG movies, Resident Evil Damnation, have multiple Tyrants in it I don't see why not. It's possible they have multiple tyrants on the streets of Raccoon City during RE2.

And before you ask yes, the CG movies are canon.

Well, you don't even have to go that far. In the original Resident Evil 2 the cutscene when Mr. X is dropped into the RPD shows 5 other drop pods containing tyrants.

There's multiple Tyrant-103 series dropped into Racoon City. You can find the corpse of at least one more in RE3. But "Mr. X" is the one that was in the Police Station. There's never been any indication that there was more than one. Alternate scenarios are exactly that. It's either or. You can't take both scenarios as absolute truth or you'll run into inconsistencies throughout the whole playthrough.

Mr X uses the same logic or programing that the Bakers from RE7 used. Were there multiple versions of them too?
