As if I didn't hate denuvo enough already.

cleft52464d ago

This stupid move on Denuvo part just insured that every major hacker group will crack their games at an even faster rate.

agent132465d ago

I hate denuvo so much voksi was a good and talented dev the first person to defeat denuvo

Activemessiah2465d ago

They couldn't create something he couldn't crack so they just take him down... absolutely pathetic.

Christopher2464d ago

You can't create something that can't be cracked...

Activemessiah2464d ago

They didn't get that memo initially.

Rachel_Alucard2465d ago

It's his own fault for not hiding his tracks. He publicly posted on reddit daily, even providing updates, then people act surprised when he got caught

Minimoth2465d ago

As much as I feel for the guy you're definitely right, he was a bit too arrogant for thinking that he would never get caught despite never trying to hide his identity. There's a reason why scene groups don't advertise who their members are.

cleft52464d ago (Edited 2464d ago )

If you feel what you are doing is right, you dont hide yourself. You show yourself to all and make a stance. That obviously exposes you to what Voksi is going through right now, but if you believe you are in the right you dont hide. Denuvo corporation choose to use a heavy handed tactic and now they will find out that the people who do hide themselves will target their software. They could have just sent a cease and desist, instead they pull this stunt. in the end, Voksi will probably end up working at some billion dollar company. Regardless, I wish him the best. As we all should.

Rachel_Alucard2464d ago (Edited 2464d ago )

Legally what he was doing was wrong. There was no need for a cease and desist since they had him out in the open ready for a lawsuit. He already cost them hundreds of thousands, and they also know that letter won't do anything to stop it. Denuvo is awful, the company is crap, and I wish they'd die already, but he blatantly exposed his illegal activities out in the open, thinking they had some moral obligation to not do anything to a guy who's costing everyone tons of money. He was absolutely foolish and arrogant to go after that e-peen on reddit, rather then shut up and keep doing what he was doing.

Learning how to circumvent DRM and remove it isn't illegal

Rachel_Alucard2464d ago

Removing DRM is very illegal if you are sharing this to other people. If you are doing it for personal use without telling it to others it's fine. It's alll based on intent.

Games industry is a little better today. Thanks!

AvP on the Jag was pretty ambitious for the time. I always wondered what a smoother (faster) frame rate would have done for that game. nice to see a spiritual sequel is in the works after all these years.
