Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Is A Brilliant Tactical Adventure Tour De Force I The Koalition

Richard Bailey Jr. of The Koalition writes: When I first got a glimpse of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden during my GDC 2018 appointment earlier this year, I was instantly sold on both the concept and what the final product would ultimately become. With a gritty post-apocalyptic setting created by Sweden based independent game development studio, The Bearded Ladies (a talented roster of former Hitman designers and Ulf Andersson of Payday fame) and a group of anamorphic lead protagonists engaging in XCOM stylized tactical combat scenarios, it already was evident to me that Mutant Year Zero would be a welcomed treat for diehard fans of the genre.

During E3 2018, I finally had an opportunity to get some hands-on time with Road to Eden during an extensive hour-long play session. Below is a brief description of the demo, my personal thoughts on the upcoming strategy adventure game and an explanation of why it should definitely be on your radar if it isn’t already.

A fantastic tactical adventure game for fans of XCOM. Can't wait until we get an official release date.

It's a good time for XCOM fans. This along with Phoenix Point.

If you like that sort of game play, have a look at Battletech as well. I'm enjoying that one and it's along the same type of tactical movements.

Really intrigued by the character concepts and a definite day one.

hmmmm im never a day one or even really a month one kinda guy nowadays ... just tired of the brokenness of games but definitely an intriguing game... could be an xcom for people who are intimidated by how rough xcom can be perhaps... xcom light maybe, or at least thats what im hoping to get more people on board with it ... looks like super cool world and character design so i'll end up picking it up/adding it to the backlog eventually im sure lol

For me the attraction isn't whether or not the game is hard or challenging yet fun. Its the potential of humor and the characters. They have smartass written all over them and it looks like a good romp.

Good Lord, that gameplay is disappointing after seeing the original trailer.

I'm gonna have to start staying away from these type of articles since there's always a chance I'll buy at least 2 games and in the current state that the world is in, I'm about to be a father so i gotta prioritize my son but goddamn I'd buy at least 5 games from this list.

Mutant Year Zero (shown), is a good little game if you like Xcom style combat.
