Disappointed that Grimgrimoire wasn't mentioned. Though I was surprised that Chamber of Time was there. Nice to know that there are people who still remember that game.
Grimgrimoire is interesting. It starts off as a little too much like Harry Potter...if Hermione was the only main character, and instead of being able to time travel at will it kind of just happens on a loop. But then the story picks up and it gets interesting to say the least. I don't think it's the best piece of videogame storytelling, but it's definitely worth checking out for those who have the means to.
There are certain recurring themes people can expect from video games intended to build ambiance, especially in RPGs. No sooner do you enter a new area or attend a new academy, then someone lets slip there are seven unsolved mysteries to discover. Inevitably, the main story or an extended series of sidequests sends you looking after each one. However, people may not realize exactly how extensive this story element is and why it is such a valuable inclusion in games.
My Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time nails the source material’s look and storytelling but its gameplay elements could use some more magic.
Tha game may not be great but I think a 4 is a bit too low, especially when you keep in mind taht this was made by the same people who worked on the Damascus Gear games (oh, and that Asterisk War game that nobody, even Japan, cared much about). And ironically, thisnis probably their best title (though it is definitely saying much).
