Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is a heart-pounding 3D action RPG beat ‘em up featuring an original storyline carved from the popular anime series.
With increasingly more magical and Hogwarts-esque games are being made, this article featuring 6 games for Potterheads is long overdue.
Disappointed that Grimgrimoire wasn't mentioned. Though I was surprised that Chamber of Time was there. Nice to know that there are people who still remember that game.
There are certain recurring themes people can expect from video games intended to build ambiance, especially in RPGs. No sooner do you enter a new area or attend a new academy, then someone lets slip there are seven unsolved mysteries to discover. Inevitably, the main story or an extended series of sidequests sends you looking after each one. However, people may not realize exactly how extensive this story element is and why it is such a valuable inclusion in games.
My Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time nails the source material’s look and storytelling but its gameplay elements could use some more magic.
What saddens me about this game is that underneath its abundance of design flaws, there's a great game hidden. If they patched many of its issues, it could be recommendable, but sadly, Bandai Namco is too busy with its other anime games (mostly Gundam, Naruto, Dragonball and SAO), and A Plus games are already working on a Kill a Kill game (oh dear). If the feedback survey is anything to go by, there might still be more LWA games in the future, which is very infuriating because now we have to wait 2 or more years before we could get one, and it might not even be worth it.
