Even if it is fake, given the hype coming from reviewers who are all saying that they can't wait to talk about it, and quotations such as "nobody is ready for what this game is", I think it's going to be a sheer masterpiece and beyond most peoples' expectations.

Not the 'Uncharted' kind of masterpiece, but 'The Last of Us' kind and then some.

That’s also what I’m wondering. There is an article saying the game has leaked 2 weeks early, so it’s possible it’s in some hands. What makes the review illegitimate? It’s not on metacritic? Their opinion doesn’t meet the standards? I don’t understand the scale here lol.

I read a review earlier that was closed down because it used leaked images. They didn’t steal somebody’s property or break NDAs, it was a leaked public image lol. The review was fine from what I could see, it sounded plausible. I didn’t see any comment pointing out any particular objection to what they said. They just chanted fake and shut it down lol. My guess is that it’s based on criticism and viciously loyal people.

Sony sent out review code a week ago, It's highly likely that there are retail copies floating about if you know who to talk to.

The embargo drops tomorrow, early impressions have mostly been very positive. There is no reason to believe that this is fake.

While my role here doesn't care about embargoes as far as guidelines go, I do question, personally, such a major site in that region breaking the embargo and what Sony might think.

If they got their copy outside of Sony, and never signed an embargo agreement, then they can release the review any time they want. It's not unheard of of some sites getting their copies early from retailers.

I think it's obvious the reviewer is a huge fan of the series and the new style of gameplay. I question the claims of perfection as well. Let alone that it's the best game released recently. That's some extremely high praise I would need to see backed up with an amazing boss battle.

I don't think 'perfect' is used literally here. I think they simply, as you stated, extremely enjoyed it. As far a being the best game released recently, He could mean 2018 as recently and that is more than believable. To me though, the thing that rings loudest to me is when you said he is a huge fan of the series. As am I. Some have made the case that reviewers who liked the old style of play would ding the game for being different. I think this shows how dumb that theory was.

I consider certain games perfect, but not in the sense that they're the best there is at everything. I use the same standards as for movies: to me, a perfect game is one which is exceptional within the gaming generation it was released in, and in which, were you to change any aspect of it, it'd be to the detriment of the game.

For example, in the original NES, I consider games like Super Mario 3, River City Ransom, Megaman 2 and Castlevania 3 to be perfect games. They're not FLAWLESS, but they're the finest representations of that gaming generation and all their elements contribute to the greatness of the whole.

The music, the characters, the enemies, dungeons, sound effects. It is the only game the comes close to perfect. It stands the test of time.
But also there have been some Fighter Games that I would consider perfect, because Fighters are a different thing.

They talk about two explorable realms in the game, and the number is extremly false.
Plus: talking about low difficulty in a game where there are 4 different settings is a bit stupid. The last difficulty is insane.

Removing it doesn't make it invalid.

They reviewed the game legit but removed it when Sony asked them to abide by the embargo. They could have said no, but instead decided to acquiesce.

As soon as the embargo is up, the review will be back up with the same content. It won't have changed.

I believe it will get good reviews but there will be some criticizing the new changes. Some of us loved the old god of war games but after Ascension I felt it needed a new direction and the changes we have seen I loved it. The game will be awesome regardless of the reviews.

Wanna share what i heard on a podcast of a serious french video game. they were answering readers emails and came to the question of their top 3 games. one of the journalist listed his 3 best and said afterward " there is this game i just finished reviewing. It might well be in that list" he didn't give any name of course but people know he is the one always testing GOW and no game received any high scored since that podcast which last wednesday (4th april). it's really just talk but i am getting a bit excited by this game.
