Wow that’s pretty awesome and unexpected. I use my android box with Kodi all the time, can do away with them if this works well

Gazondaily2343d ago

Downloaded it but need to make the add ons work. Gotta learn all this shit!

zackeroniii2343d ago

Finally a reason to own an Xbox one! This is what the Xbox one was originally intended for. TV and Movies! Great to see it finally coming to fruition after they abandoned it after that horrendous e3 reveal!

Eonjay2343d ago

There are many resources out there. You should be fine. Kodi is a great addition to the Xbox One.

Cyborgg2343d ago (Edited 2343d ago )

Now Xbox one has an identity. Maybe it can compete with the firestick

Army_of_Darkness2343d ago

Oh damn! As a Ps4 gamer, I'm actually jealous for once! Good stuff ms!

Cueil2343d ago

@zackeronii yes that horrible e3 reveal that just showed game after game after game after game... that one? Maybe go back and watch it again

Omnislashver362343d ago

Hey can any Xbox owners tell me if the madvr plugin works on this? If I can get some superior upscaling for shows I might just buy an Xbox One X...

choujij2342d ago

lol That's awesome, because it's come full circle. Xbox Media Center > XBMC > Kodi officially back on Xbox. :D
Great news for Xbox owners.

RedDevils2342d ago

Installed those build from the like of Ares wizard, they have complete addon package without you wasting your time looking for one that work.

Retroman2343d ago

Why its not on ps4? She-it !!!

ILostMyMind2342d ago

Maybe no one asked for it ... I guess.

gazgriff2k122342d ago

Because PlayStation hasn't got Windows apps

Orionsangel2342d ago

Don't get too excited. Kodi is crap these days. There's no good repositories. None of the links work.

ObviousGoldfish2342d ago

With this guy. Kodi blows now. Big whoop it's on Xbox. Only going to cheer when it makes it way to a shit platform like the the vita.

shinoff21832342d ago

I use Plex for both my consoles but I am definitely down to see how this works.

jrshankill2343d ago

Sweeeeet! Hope they keep working at it.
Already grabbed it on the MS Store.

Cyro2343d ago

Nice. I wish Kodi was on PS4. I have an Android box but to do it all from one device would be neat.

Goldby2343d ago

Find a good server for plex and your set

RedDevils2342d ago

Plex is good, but not Kodi good when it come to addon, hell Kodi has plex within it.

Considering the endless ways to use Kodi, this ain't that big. Hell it isn't even the best way to use Kodi. I set my parents up so they access it strait from their TV. No extra hardware required for them. I, on the other hand, get addicted to watching things before going to sleep, so nothing is better than using it on my phone. If I want a bigger screen, I just use miracast. I can even miracast onto my laptop at work.

It is always nice to have more options, but this isn't exactly big news worthy. In fact, the more popular Kodi becomes, the sooner it will get shut down and we will have to move on to the next thing. Keeping it out of the news is best if you like using Kodi.

Retroman2342d ago

You absolutely right Kodi is getting Popular now . Shoot, better order Amazon fire stick soon download Kodi before it's too late .

Parasyte2342d ago

@GT67
The only bad thing about the FireStick is, you can't watch YouTube on it anymore unless you access it via web browser within the FireStick. Due to a dispute between Amazon and Google, Google has revoked Amazon's access to YouTube and the app has been disabled.

DogJosha2342d ago

I must have hit a fanboy nerve with all these disagrees. All I stated were facts though. Considering the plethora of ways to connect to Kodi, this news will not impact too many people. I would also consider the risk of being banned from XBL due to using Kodi. I just don't see the benefit of taking the risk when $20 will eliminate that risk. As far as feasibility, how is it more efficient to install it on an XBox One than straight onto a tv? If your argument is portability, how is it more portable than a cell phone that can play Kodi on its own, miracast to a TV/monitor, miracast to a windows PC, or even just plug in with an HDMI cable?

So what did I say that is an opinion and not a fact?

Kodi is not well-known to keep it Free .

If it was Nationwide everyone would be paying .
Millions of people still program into the Matrix system to pay for cable. Kodi set you Free from the Matrix system of cable .

Paid subs are coming, and every company is investing heavily in them. From Microtransactions to this type of stuff, the community has been vocal about the issues surrounding ripping customers off, but we are being let down by influencers and journalists in trying to fight off these abhorrent business practices. Influencers and journalists don't say enough about how bad this stuff is. Meanwhile th soft buyers in the general public are getting more outraged by the day and whales are being exploited to pay too much of their own money for pointless crap.

A paid sub is partly why I think Xbox can throw Black Ops 6 on to Gamepass day-and-date and still think of it as "good business."

Phantom Fury review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "The history of Duke Nukem Forever is one aspect of video game history that’s curiously well documented. While playing this throwback first-person shooter, intended to recall the early noughties with its pixilated visuals and shlock sci-fi setting, I couldn’t shake the fact that part of DNF’s DNA was present here. Not in a derogatory sense, but rather that it resembles one of the earlier, unreleased, DNF builds in terms of style and features. This may not even be a coincidence, with 3D Realms publishing, and references to The Manhattan Project – although this was a real-life event, and not just a subtitle of a forgotten Duke Nukem spin-off."
