The Future Of Final Fantasy Is All About Player Feedback

When Yoshinori Kitase talks about the future of Final Fantasy, you probably want to listen. The veteran producer, widely considered the successor to former Square Enix honcho Hironobu Sakaguchi, is one of the shepherds of the iconic role-playing game series. And he’s looking to take some lessons from the world of mobile gaming—namely, player feedback.

Evidence the company can't think for itself. I enjoyed FFXV but there's no denying the series is a shadow of its former self.

indeed ....why listen player feedback,,,they dont have any creativity left? .if all the time listen the masses then the only game masses can lcreate is dumb GTA clones----be creators and lead you retarded Square .......FFXV had huge potential to become one of the best entries ...however they chopped the thing to piecies and even leaving unfinished huge parts creating an uncohesive (though beautiful visually) mess with half of the content of previous entries

A good ride will eventually come to an end.

Hoi_C2846d ago

How much feedback must there be until there's a remaster of FInal Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

I truly miss the turn base fight style. I never felt like it was a broken system. There many variations lik speeding up the turn meter which Feels pretty intense when it gets tough. In the end it's all preference but that's one thing I definitely miss from the final fantasy games

There's turn based combat in World of Final Fantasy

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.

Well it doesn’t surprise me. As much money as they make and how they value their employees. It’s a great company in that regard.

Good guy Nintendo
Microsoft and Sony are the bad guys

Well, when your games remain full price many years after release.

And you make profit off of outdated hardware.

I would be shocked if they couldn't afford to retain their staff.

lodossrage51m ago(Edited 51m ago)

I didn't want to say anything but drivxr is right.

Nintendo always sells at a profit because they purposely use tech that's always 5 or more years behind. And it's also true their games hardly ever get price decreases.

Don't get me wrong, it's great they kept most of their workforce, but making a point to have your tech specs behind everyone else affords that luxury.
