For all of their (Sony) mistakes they appear to be doing pretty good globally at the highest price point of all the gaming consoles. People can write all the articles like this they choose. They are only fooling themselves. With their upcoming releases and another price drop, Sony is going to kick into over drive and not look back.

Last year my gaming time was split 75% 360 - 25% PS3. This year so far it has been roughly 50 - 50. Depending on Gears 2 there will most likely be a huge shift in my gaming time towards the PS3. I have a strong feeling that by this time next year my percentages will be 80% PS3 to 20% 360 (if that).

I don't know why you mention the PS3 being in 3rd place when we all know that the 360 had A YEAR head start worldwide. The PS3 on the other hand launched a year after the 360 in NA/Japan and 1.5 years after the 360 in the EU territories. It also had to co-launch with the Wii that was half the price. Not only that but if I recall, the PS3 outsold the 360 last year which makes the PS3 second place for the year of 2007. As of right now the PS3 is still in second place for 2008.

Don't keep me up at night. They are simply the opinions of uninformed journalists that need more hits to keep their site profitable. Sorry, but the negativity against the PS3 quit about a year ago and with all that Sony has done to improve their rep over the last year is working.

Just as a reminder to those who have forgotten... Remember how there was a time Sony didn't listen to the consumers? Remember how they did what they wanted and cared not for us? Now we have the PS Blog, a console that has plenty of cool community features and games that rock. They are listening and making changes accordingly. it is a start and they are getting better.

Nobody's denying that Sony hasn't made mistakes. But to mention those mistakes *now* when the PS3 is gaining momentum is nothing but pure flamebait. You want me to list how many mistakes Microsoft has made this generation? From the infamous Red Light of Death, to disk scratching, to saving their asses from a class action lawsuit by using warranties instead of fixing the real issue at hand, one has to wonder why someone wouldn't take the plunge to get a 360 these days.

I mean...why doesn't the author of this article mention Microsoft's mistakes? Or Nintendo's mistakes?

AAA titles has nothing to do with it first of all and second of all, I could have *sworn* that the 360 hasn't had a real AAA title since Gears of War and Halo 3.

PS3 is going to reach 23-25 mln. on it`s second year. That`s by 5-7 mln. more, then PSP did on it`s 2nd year.
And PSP this year, on it`s 4th year is going to reach ~45 mln. sales. I could easy bet, that by 4th year of PS3 life, or by the end of 2010 PS3 will reach over 65 mln. sales, especially with Lower price and games like FFXIII, HR, FFXIIv, GT5, GoW3 and etc. released. It could make even 70 mln. by that time. =)
And 85 mln. by the end of 2011, and 100 mln. by the end of 2012. :)

Also, another funny thing I noticed is people have no problem living in the past when it comes to negative PS3 "factoids". In my opinion Sony's biggest mistakes was the following.

1.) Not having a worldwide release.
In Japan PS3 came out 3 months before America and the rest of the world got it a year later after Japan and the U.S have already got it.

2.) Too pricey in some areas I've spent $500 on my PS3 in America but the rest of world pays even more then that.
Sony should of just had one price cut for each area all around the world at one price to where it's the same in each area.

3.) They got rid of B/C w/ the PS2 on the PS3.

4.) Sony didn't secure enough exclusives day one.
ex.) GTA IV, Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, FFXIII, etc.
All I gotta say is thank god Sony secured MGS4, FFXIII Versus and Tekken 6 as the last 3rd party exclusives left this gen.

5.) Made the PS3 too hard to develop for for devs.

Other then that Sony has improved dramatically along w/ devs and are set to takeover this holiday season and overtake the 360 in late 2008 early 2009.

This generation PS is not good enough for me because these generation games are so cool looking but they forgot to make the with better replay at least for a 4 hours duration before ending the game.

I did not likr GTA4, it is a joke and MGS4 was ok and also with Uncharted(uber fun game) are both way too small.In a couple of hours you finish it.And since I am old school VG player I dont like much playing online(unless is to play Eq/WoW) so it doesn ot matter the stupid non stop deathmatch FPS online modes they put on every game.

I got a PS3 for 2 years so far and the real uber FUN as hell game that I played so far was Oblivion and the rest of the 15 games I got are ok fun but nor worth 60 dolars.

3)Your government for making the taxes so high and not investing in a decent high speed bandwidth.
4)your mom and dad for birthing you on the island
5)manufactuers for not putting console part making factories in your country

Dont get me wrong, Its a wonderful country. My wife is australian and we plan to move there to be close to her parents. But lagging behind in technology is your own damn fault.
