Unreal Engine RPG? No thank you.

Hentai5755d ago

They should of use crystal tools engine(if it is indeed an multiplatform engine).

NinjaRyu5755d ago

All you should care about is if the game is any fun or not! At least that's what i care about!

Tidus115754d ago

when does this game release for ps3?

v1c1ous5754d ago

I just don't get why Square is even trying to make rpg's anymore? Maybe its because they are running out of the money that FFX gave them? I dont know, but Im sure glad that we dont have anything like this coming to the ps3. It would be a disgrace to everything that is good on my favorite system. Seeing this game on the ps3's catalog of games would be like looking at a zit on a beautiful woman's face.

I have a 360, and I might rent this, but only because its a squeenix game. I dont like the fact that Im gonna have control over 30 something people at a time. Thats more of a RTS if you ask me, and RTS's are only good on the pc. What is up with Squeenix man!? They used to be known for their epic rpg's. Now they are known for making epic piles of manure.

TheColbertinator5755d ago

I think your a bit confused. This game has been announced for PS3 as well. Its just been delayed to next year

silverchode5754d ago

i actually liked drakenguard.

TheColbertinator5754d ago

@silverchode

Oh sorry about that.

TheColbertinator5755d ago

Not too sure about this one.The guys who made this one are the same guys who made Drakengard, the biggest stinker Sqeenix has ever made

jkhan5754d ago

I don't know what happened to SE. They used to deliver beautiful looking games and this gen all they have released are mediocre games with bland graphics.

juuken5754d ago (Edited 5754d ago )

They became greedy and lost sight of what it means to develop a true rpg, that's what.

Raoh5754d ago

accidentallyt posted this on a LBP article :(

i hate that this game has become a timed a timed exclusive...

its because of that, that i refuse to give square my money on first day..

i will wait since there are other games as good if not better when it comes out on ps3.. (take note develoers/publishers, the game is old so the pay off better be good for timed)

but i hope the game is good.. it can only be better when it it hits ps3

but my plan is to rent it on gamefly and buy it used................

i hope this game doesnt suck... but if it does suck.. good for you square

v1c1ous5754d ago

if its the same thing on both :/, with one console just getting it earlier?

Tidus115754d ago

@ 4.1

If they add content or tweak gameplay like the games below
1)Alone in the Dark
2)Bioshock
3)Eternal Sonata

Daver5754d ago

@4.1

He probably mean like Alone in the dark, they improved many things before releasing it on ps3

Willio5754d ago

Releasing games on the PS3 after timed exclusives requires developers to release the game with additional features or extra content.

Jamegohanssj55754d ago

They're using the 360 as a test like Alone In The Dark. It's obvious.

While I agree that the combat in Star Ocean 5's combat is pretty fun, saying that its story is more enjoyable than its predecessors is highly debatable. Also, it's not just the technical issues the game suffers from.

Gaming4Life19811609d ago

Star Ocean 5 was garbage and I was a huge star ocean fan.

Docmortem1610d ago

Completely disagree the games I played from the list all deserve their scores (Star Ocean, Nier, Tales of Zesteria, Type-0). While there are certainly people that love these games, they have flaws in many categories, that justify those scores.
Star Ocean especially bored the hell out of me. Lame story and face roll battle system (I finished the game anyway). These games are really niche and when rated by a broader public, fall short. In my opinion even in their own genre.

solideagle1610d ago

I personally have not played any game below 80 and thought wow this should have been 80-90 game. The only game I thought should have been 90 was Shadow Hearts II: Covenant. I am pretty sure there will be some games but average score usually is pretty good indication.

do you recommend any JRPG which you think were good/amazing but it didn't score well? I just purchased Tokyo xanadu but it seems way too slow like trails game but trail at least has good story. I will give it a shot

rainslacker1609d ago

I think there were quite a few JRPG games that got hit with lower meta scores last gen when all these reviewers were on their anti-anime tropes kick. Not that they should get up there into the high 80s or 90s, but they weren't 60-70 games either.

That's mostly died off this gen, thankfully

WickedLester1610d ago

Ni No Kuni 2 is way better than it's metascore.

solideagle1610d ago

I think Ni No Kuni 2 combat is pretty generic but if you add all DLCs then its combat is pretty awesome. I purchased the complete edition so I can say DLC changes the combat completely

FinalAeonX1609d ago

Ni no Kuni 1 is way better than its metascore

Father__Merrin1610d ago

meta scores are rubbish best ignore them. many gems out there

solideagle1610d ago (Edited 1610d ago )

can you please name few?

Kocurstvo1609d ago (Edited 1609d ago )

Useless to argument troll, but e.g. Eat Lead is hilarious and extremely funny, yet mediocre on metastupids.... Lords of the Fallen, Strange brigade... I could name hundreds

It's a good game, but the story is only okay. The gameplay is where the game really shines, but the game itself does an atrocious job of explaining it's own systems. Basically, you need to read a "what I wish I knew before I started" somewhere online, and then the game becomes great.
