Where Are Our Exclusives? Grievances Of An Xbox One Owner

IM PLAYIN discuss the relative lack of exclusives on the Xbox One.

How is it that in 2013 Sony released a whole slew of exclusives on PS3 and Vita while Microsoft held off on doing the same for 360 in order to focus efforts on their next console, yet so far this generation Sony still continues to show stronger first party support on PS4 than Microsoft on XO.

Just goes to show that Microsoft's first party efforts will always pale in comparison to both of their competitors.

chrisx2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

Most of xboners have jumped the sinking ship and many more are heading over to the Ps4 side. Only the ms die hards remain with blind loyalty. The best solution the writer can do is right in his face: get a Ps4 and play amazing exclusives

GorillaTact2643d ago

Gaming will never get past its "videogames are for kids" stigma as long as grown adults are promoting this childish behavior. Grow up.

Neonridr2643d ago

or own both and then you are covered.. why limit yourself to one console anyways? I could understand if it was a financial decision, but I want as many game experiences as I can get. Why miss out on the exclusive titles any of the three bring to the table. Usually only supporting one company is a sign of blind loyalty.

Kingthrash3602643d ago

Last time people stopped buying xbo they did a ton of 180s and did what gamers wanted. So just buy a switch or ps4 and go on twitter and complain to phil....sooner or later he'll start listening instead of throwing PR at the problem. So no, don't buy an xbox...protest with your wallet, customers are in charge. Buy one when they wake up

AngelicIceDiamond2643d ago

"Only the ms die hards remain with blind loyalty." So anyone who plays a different console than you is blind? Typical fanboy comment not surprised.

Utalkin2me2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

@Neonridr, AngelicDiamond

You're going to buy all three regardless? That in itself is blind loyalty. Some people don't go blindly spending money just cause they can. If someone feels that this system or that system isn't worth a purchase, doesn't make him a fanboy or a loyalist to x console.

For instance, some of my friends went through 3 to 7 xbox 360's. If those friends would have purchased a Xbox 1, i would call somebody like that not only a loyalist, but also ignorant. After 2 rrod on me, i said no more and will not purchase MS products in the future. And i would do the same with any product doesn't matter if it's a blu ray player, toaster or whatever.

Kribwalker2643d ago

I have an Xbox one. I have a PS4, I have a pre order on the switch. Majority of my time spent gaming is on my Xbox one, as you can see if you look at sales charts, Multi Platforms are the better selling games other then the odd exclusive here and there that sell really well.
I at least give myself a choice and the ability to buy and play anygame I want to play and not lend myself to blind brand loyalty

XXanderXX2643d ago

Rather not game than support that platform.

_-EDMIX-_2643d ago

I mean at the end of the day can you seriously blame them? Owning an Xbox One in my personal opinion is a luxury there is no reason to own that platform to be honest at this point it makes more sense to own a PlayStation 4 and have an Xbox One on the side , mind you that if you don't even game on PC.

If somebody financially just doesn't have the money to own all those platforms there is no reason to buy an Xbox One and then begin the classic praying and begging for games, it's just stupid and doesn't make sense , a bunch of people have always went on this bizarre journey of every single E3 or gamescom begging and hoping that Microsoft changes and it's like....people ,if you look at what they were doing last generation what tells you that they've changed? Whatever they even done to show that they even intend to compete with Sony on such a level?

At some point any consumer has to question why a platform by a publisher that's only willing to give them about two games maybe a year that are even worth purchasing.

thexmanone2642d ago

"Xboners" Really, Does mommy know you talk like that.

XanderZane2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

I own both systems. Not missing out on anything. Will wait a year or so before thinking about getting a Switch. Already have a Wii U. Why anyone would own just a PS4 or just an XB1 is beyond me. With these two, I don't need a gaming PC unless I want to play some exclusive MMO's.

@Kingthrash360
Better to not listen to clueless gamers on N4G and just buy whatever you want. Most educated gamers already know this anyways.

rainslacker2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

I own both systems. I could partake in what both systems have to offer. but that doesn't change the fact that MS doesn't have much to offer me right now.

Blind loyalty and console preference has nothing to do with my almost complete lack of interest in what MS has on tap for this year, and the biggest thing I think about with Xbox is when there will be something there for me to actually consider being worth my time.

Seems odd to me, since I will buy all sorts of games, some which people would never consider, but the current Xbox line up is just making me think MS only cares about a very narrow segment of the market....which I happen to not be a part of.

If I hadn't jumped in for QB primarily, and the chance to play some of the other games they had early on, potentially get SB, and cuphead, then I would see absolutely no reason to even consider purchasing an X1.

Bronxs152642d ago

@rainslacker

i tactfully agree with a lot you said in your post here. i'm also a multi console owner and to be honest there really isn't a xbox game i'm looking forward too. i'm more looking forward to scorpio but not sure what i'll play with it.

i do like gears and halo tho so i hope the potential of scorpio makes the next installment of those games even better.

sea of theives, crackdown, phantum dust just don't do anything for me. i think i'll get horizon 3 when it's cheaper and i'm looking for something new to play. and just cus i have the system i'll get recore on day on sale. Even tho it didn't review great. My eyes opened when i played quantum break and really enjoyed it despite the poor reviews.

so i'm curious what if any did you enjoy on the xbox one? and have you tried ori and the blind forest? that was one of my favorite games on xbox.

on the ps4 side i haven't play much of the exclusives yet. i didn't like second son. and my lack of interest in xbox's forthcoming line up was like my lack of interest in ps4 previous releases. i wasn't interested in the order, until dawn, or bloodborn, but i actually purachsed all of those games now for much cheaper and i'm sure i'll like them for the prices i got them at. i got until dawn for 20 bloodborne for 10 and the order for 5 on psn sales. so i'm looking forward to play those when i have time and i'm sure i'll enjoy them.

but currently playstations line up has me interested with tittles like horizon, the new spiderman game, and new god of war (even tho i didn't like gow 3, i loved 1 and 2)

I think Sony has more 1st parties in general.

Imalwaysright2643d ago

And support from japanese devs. Ni-oh, Ni No kuni 2, Persona 5, Yakuza and Nier are an example of it and these games alone would be enough for me to buy a PS4 this year.

_-EDMIX-_2642d ago

@ima- absolutely the support they get from the Japanese development Community is so major that if you're Microsoft or Nintendo you have no choice but the build your first party just as powerful knowing that Sony has this double combo.

lelo2play2643d ago

Phil Spencer started well, but lately... it's getting worse and worse for the Xbox brand. No exclusives.
At this moment, what's the incentive to purchase a Xbox One if you have a decent PC?

Imalwaysright2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

As someone with a decent PC, there isn't really one but MS still sees my money due to their software and I appreciate that they're supporting PC gaming. For those that don't like PC gaming or prefer to play on consoles the X1 is as legitimate choice as a gaming PC to play 1st/2nd party MS games and multiplatform games.

rainslacker2642d ago

We're at the point where whatever Spencer wanted to get done should be showing up soon. A lot of the stuff that we have on the X1 plate right now likely started before he took over. most of the stuff people give him credit for started before his tenure as well. I don't think people realize that most things in the gaming industry don't happen in a few months time. Typically, most stuff is months, or more often, years in the making.

That's why i think this E3 will be a pivotal year to tell if Spencer's efforts are actually a change for MS in general, or if Spencer is just more of the same with a more endearing personality.

Major_Glitch2643d ago

At this point, Nintendo has more exclusives than the Xbox 1.

Bronxs152642d ago

@PhoenixUp
how is it you don't know the answer to your own question? it's simple really... sony has a lot more first party studios.

SpaceRanger2643d ago

I don't think I've ever seen you contribute to this site through discussion, other than through comment or article trolling.

All I know is that MS' misfortunes with Xbox this gen are due to two things:
- Focusing on the "dudebro" games last gen.
- Having a fanbase that thought COD DLC, Halo and Gears mattered more than new and innovative exclusives.

Gazondaily2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

Its because you're so blind-sighted by your extreme partisan view of things that even when I critique brands that you guys associate with me, you're blind to it.

My comment above was just a tongue-in-cheek joke about the lack of Xbox games. As a fan of Xbox, I care a lot more than those concern trolling. You know who they are...

The attempts at diversifying by xbox didn't actually pan out because of the relatively poor quality of the titles released.

Ori was great. But QB wasn't all that and Recore flopped.

MS simply doesn't have enough studios and didn't invest enough when it mattered. We all know this and I've said this before. Difference is, I actually want xbox to do well.

gangsta_red2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

@Septic

Recore was a niche title so it wasnt expectes to sell well.

@spaceranger

He has actually tried and even submitted some good opinion pieces and reviews to this site.

It's just unfortunate that the discussions he has tried to initiate always get turned into others calling him a troll, a hater or an xbox fanboy.

ItMatters2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

What game is innovative on PlayStation ? Can any PlayStation game do full city destruction using the cloud ? Infamous second son is similar to Crackdown but once you add the full city destruction then it's not even close. How much stuff in horizon zero dawn is destructable ? Easy to have beautiful graphics when you don't have to render more than rocks grass trees and metal Dino's. Disagree all you want but no game is more innovative than Crackdown 3 and its massive city that can be destroyed.

S2Killinit2643d ago

but Septic, I think you have such a history of trolling Playstation sights that your sudden switch (an extreme one at that) seems either disingenuous or strange. Honestly, you've been very critical of MS, more than I think is deserved. But people don't forget how you used to troll anything Playstation, so I think its not "blindness", its distrust of what you say. Personally, I'm waiting for you to switch back.

SmielmaN2643d ago

@gangstared

It's hard for some ppl to chg a reputation they spent years cultivating on this site. There's a reason certain commenters get massive disagrees for any comment they make. They did it to themselves.

They may be trying to chg their ways sincerely or simply for appearances sake (cough*needclickstotheirwebsit e*cough) but there are many who simply don't want to engage in a topic with them anymore. It happens when they acted like a complete fanboy douche-nozzle for years.

_-EDMIX-_2643d ago

@sep-

"MS simply doesn't have enough studios and didn't invest enough when it mattered. We all know this and I've said this before. Difference is, I actually want xbox to do well."

Well technically speaking when this generation first started a lot of us on here made it pretty clear that Microsoft did not really show much signs of actually changing.

I'm sorry buddy but if you cared about Microsoft situation you actually should have been more vocal when people kept bringing these things up you literally kept defending this type of stupidity for years now and only when it's becoming painfully obvious that this company has no plans to come back Sony are you now trying to jump on the bandwagon as if you've always believed this but your comment history shows otherwise.

I'm sorry but you picked the wrong horse and you now have to deal with eating crow as it's clear that Sony is not stopping the onslaught of new intellectual properties for god sakes they still have several Studios working on new intellectual properties.

Buddy if you cared about this company you should have been one of the first people demanding and asking questions as to what was going on with in Microsoft in fact the majority of times people begin asking this question it would simply try to bring up Sony or Nintendo as if that has anything to do with Microsoft.

I have a lot of Publishers that I like that I still openly criticized because I want them to do well especially publishers like Capcom and Nintendo, where they have a stable of amazing properties but clearly have a lot of trouble currently.

I'm not going to keep denying that there's something wrong with in those Publishers and I'm not going to keep bringing up other Publishers as excuses for this type of stupid Behavior

You're getting the disagrees like you always get lots of massive disagrees because the community very much remember lots of your comments regarding this company.

So to be clear I don't like Microsoft, I like what Microsoft could have been.

Unless you want to call me some sort of magician , I'm pretty damn positive several years ago I've made it pretty clear that this company based on their actions had no plans to compete against Sony , like I've said several times already 2011 Sony was working on Horizon zero Dawn , what was Microsoft working on for the Xbox One in 2011 in regards to a new IP?

Sony purchased a bunch of Studios last generation , what was Microsoft doing?

Would you see right now from the PlayStation 4 is from very strategic planning that dates back to well over 10 years ago when PlayStation 3 first released.

Can you say the same thing for the Xbox One?

As it stands it sounds to me like you like the Xbox simply because you're a fanboy because it's pretty damn clear it doesn't make sense to like a company that doesn't even hold your best interest in mind , unless all you plan to do is play Gears Halo and Forza vomited over and over again for another generation like clockwork.

Why o why2643d ago

C'mon man. . That gif was funny. . . . .You have to respect those who can take the piss outta themselves. Free the banter.

n4rc2643d ago

kinda seems ps4 took the dudebro crown this gen... hating on them for it as well i would assume?

G20WLY2643d ago

^@narc, ps4 took EVERY crown this gen.

You really saying it's a bad thing that they didn't discriminate against the dudebros? How else do you encourage them over to PlayStation? You have to cater for ALL tastes.

Perjoss2643d ago

"MS simply doesn't have enough studios and didn't invest enough when it mattered. We all know this and I've said this before. Difference is, I actually want xbox to do well."

Everybody wants xbox to do well, because healthy competition will keep things moving forward. MS has virtually unlimited resources but for some reason they take a very lazy 'wait and see' approach rather than grabbing the bull by the horns and taking some bold risks.

kreate2642d ago

Septic really bothers me. I literally stayed away from n4g for like a year becuz of him. I've only recently got back to n4g and I'm still offended. I'm pretty sure he use to use another ID a long time ago.

rainslacker2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

It's rather funny.

I look at people like Septic, who says he's a multi-console owner, and claims to be unbiased, and gansta, who often acts like he has great insight, and only see them trying to seem impartial by making rather cursory attempts to be liked by saying stuff they hope others will agree with. But due to their comment history, no one trusts them.

But then you see one particular user on here named 343_Guilty_Spark, and despite his long history of trolling PS articles with single comments that he never carried on a conversation for goes and gets a PS4, and he starts to enjoy it, and his comments are actually pretty well received.

Why is that?

Maybe because when he says his comments, it doesn't come across as some sort of form of reverse trolling with an attempt to somehow bring another console into it, and the things he says shows that he has likely actually played the games.

Sure, he still has his criticisms of Sony, and still seems to have a preference for Xbox, but his anti-PS trolling has really toned down a lot. He didn't go off on rants about how people on this site aren't giving him a fair shake now because of his prior history, he just posts his opinions in a simple manner with very little qualification to try and seem impartial.

So, he actually became more impartial in his comments, instead of trying to just seem impartial in his comments. not always, but much more often than normal.

For you Septic, it's more like you have bipolar disorder. One week you will ride Sony off a cliff. The next, you act every game and everything Sony is the best ever. I don't know what happened to you, because I used to think you were one of the most fair and intelligent users on this site....even with your preference for Xbox. Now....you're kind of a joke of your former self....almost like you're trying to be satirical in some sort of Colbertian character of the good PS fan.

Gangsta is still pretty much the same as always, but I did take note on how quickly his disdain over scalebounds cancellation, and his criticisms over how pathetic MS 1st party line up were right after, quickly changed to how great MS line up this year is. I thought after SB, more Xbox owners would start to see what PS fan boys have been saying for quite some time. It lasted a few days, then everything returned to normal.

Me, I still have a preference for PS. If people want to take that preference and dismiss whatever I say because of it, which Septic and Gangsta often do as their entire argument to dismiss anything I might say, then so be it. I will praise MS for their good things, defend them when I feel they are being attacked unfairly(which most x1 fan boys don't ever seem to notice I do), and criticize them when i feel it appropriate. Same as I do for Sony, just Sony gives me fewer reasons to criticize, and overall, what they actually do offer I feel makes up for some of their short comings.

rainslacker2642d ago

@Ed

If you want a pertinent example of a publisher that fits into your example, then look no further than Square Enix. For years, people were on them about how far they had fallen from their former glory days. It's not that people wanted them to fail, it's that they wanted them to return to their former glory days.

Over time, I think that message kind of sunk in over at Square Enix. Sure, they still have a lot of the same things people were annoyed with before, but at least they're trying to pander to their fan base again with games that seemingly appeal to them.

Criticizing something is not always an attempt to bring it down....although that is a common thing around here. It can be a genuine desire to get what you want across to these companies, and if enough people do it, then there is more chance that they will listen.

For instance, people keep saying that MS brought BC because people kept asking for it. Well, a lot of those requests were also criticisms. And then MS delivered.

But if people keep allowing MS pass off their current line up for the year as something spectacular, then you only lower the bar that MS has to reach to be accepted by it's user base. One doesn't have to go and say that the line up sucks and bash it relentlessly to criticize, but it doesn't hurt to start asking MS what the f**k they're doing over there and why they can't get their act together to release more games for those people.....their user base....so they can enjoy the product they love so much more.

mark_parch2642d ago

i have had an xbox since launch and been extremely happy with it. i love the contoller, ea access really is outstanding value now with all the games in the vault, i have enjoyed a few games in the preview program like ark, elite dangerous and astroneer, i have a huge digital library of great games thanks to bc and games with gold. then there's some really good console exclusives like killer instinct, motorsport 6, titanfall, sunset overdrive, horizon 2 and 3, ori and the blind forest, halo 5, gears 4, halo wars 2 and i actually enjoyed quantum break. there's some exciting games coming this year like sea of thieves, crackdown 3, below, state of decay 2, motorsport 7, cuphead and tacoma. its a shame there's a dry spell right now but there's plenty of reasons to get an xbox. i also have a ps4 pro picked one up recently to play zero dawn not that that will stop the waves of downvotes but hey lol

n4rc2642d ago

@g20

not at all, i like the dudebro games... lol.. just always find it funny when MS gets hated on for cod etc but now ps4 is killing it with destiny and cod deals and nobody seems to mind..

according to the post i replied to, these games are the cause of xbox's misfortune when they could equally be called on for ps4's success.. doesnt make any sense to me

_-EDMIX-_2643d ago

@sep- using profanity and name-calling is not really going to help your point in fact that only shows just how little you know as it explains all the disagrees you get on this site.

It's easy to personal attack and go off topic when you're getting the brakes Beat It Out of You by Logic and facts isn't it? I understand that there's nothing you could really post to combat what is being stated and it's probably why you're taking it so personal and emotional.

It's pretty clear that any point that somebody makes to a great degree that basically crosses all the t's and Dot all the I's on what is wrong with this company , it sounds like you're too scared to really reply with something that actually properly combat the statement, it's easier to just personal attack and go off topic isn't it?

You know would be the smart thing septic? Staying on topic and supporting your argument.

You seem to be back peddling so much you're damn near trying to pretend as if you never supported Microsoft's endeavors.

Not fun being part of the losing side isn't it? You probably should not have been picking sides that way in the first place and you should have just respected the criticism made towards this company as opposed to denying it for all these years.

I might purchase some Capcom games from time to time but it does not stop me from criticizing the company when it is just and you decided to play Fanboy and now you're back peddling and can't take it.

mark_parch2642d ago

i am so excited for below it's seriously one of my most anticipated games this year. the reason cuphead is taking so long is because at the start it was just a boss battle game but after the huge response to the game they decided to build more like adding platforming levels and the biggest factor is everything is hand drawn by 2 people so i can understand.

It's obvious they've shifted their focus on Scorpio. This explains the lack of support. They always ditch their support for their consoles very early and move on to the next one. Explains the lack of quality exclusives during mid 360 era and this one.

rainslacker2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

Yeah, I know the idea of "wait until -insert next big date here-" has supplied me with plenty of excitement for the piece of plastic encasing circuit boards within my entertainment center.

It's easier to be excited when we know what to be excited about. Vague promises of more to come with no clue what that might be doesn't do well when the track record of the company is to not really deliver that much beyond it's staples.

If others are excited about it fine. But I'm not, and MS shows no indication that they care about providing a compelling and diverse experience on a regular basis.

it'd be easier to wait if I played multi-plats on the system, and it was my only console, because then it wouldn't feel so barren, but that's not the case for me, so the lack of compelling content that I would play on the system is much more noticeable to me. To correlate it, when Sony had their sparse holiday that one year, I still had plenty of games to play otherwise, so the wait was easier, and at least I had some idea of what was to come. Do we know a single game that MS has planned for after this holiday? Wait for E3 is great and all, but realistically, if someone is looking for a system, and can't wait it out, would they go for the system with plenty of compelling content on a consistent basis, or the promise that it'll come from a company which has problems being consistent with the delivery of compelling content.

Anyhow, a little bit about me.

I tend to get more excited for games than the console itself. My excitement for a console lies solely in my excitement for the games I can play on it. My faith in a console is solely based on the track record of the console makers own efforts to provide me with content I want to play.

gangsta_red2642d ago

"If others are excited about it fine. But I'm not, and MS shows no indication that they care about providing a compelling and diverse experience on a regular basis."

And that is good, no one can fault you for that. But what i find curious is your ability to question others who are excited for what's to come, who are curious for the future, who do think the games Xbox is bringing is compelling. Your attitude and this position you take that people have to convince you or explain to you why they are excited when you have already planted your feet in the cement of hating MS and not being interested in any Xbox games is the issue I bring up and have.

As for your critique above about me, let me further reply to that.

"...his disdain over scalebounds cancellation, and his criticisms over how pathetic MS 1st party line up were right after, quickly changed to how great MS line up this year is."

Because Rain, there's no point in letting my emotions continue to ride and over repeating myself in every article that talks about games for Xbox. Scalebound was cancelled, it sux, it sux for Xbox's line up, I admitted that and I moved on. I don't need to be in every article repeating how much i hate MS, how MS has no games, how everything MS does isn't what Sony is doing. You see the difference?

And when did I say or change to say that MS line up was great this year? I am sure I never said that, or is this more of an exaggeration on your end? I'm thinking this is an extreme exaggeration with some type of malice behind it.

Anyways, while others are repeating the same tired nonsense of Xbox has no games or Xbox only has Gears, Forza, Halo, I on the other hand am looking forward to Crackdown 3, playing Halo Wars 2, waiting for State of Decay 2, looking forward to Cuphead and awaiting for new games to be announced.

I'm not debating or asking people to prove to me why they are looking forward to a game. I'm not going into almost every article stating how I hate MS or saying Xbox has no gamez.

"I thought after SB, more Xbox owners would start to see what PS fan boys have been saying for quite some time. It lasted a few days, then everything returned to normal."

Again, and as i was saying, maybe it's because we don't harbor this need for a deep hated grudge as Sony fanboys seem to have. Maybe these xbox fanboys, or just fans in general don't see a point to keep nailing this tired old mantra that you and others keep hammering on that old rotten piece of wood.

"If people want to take that preference and dismiss whatever I say because of it, which Septic and Gangsta often do as their entire argument to dismiss anything I might say, then so be it."

You know exactly what issues I had with a lot of your comments. I have explained them to you and discussed them and they never had anything to do with your preference of console. What's funny is your whole assessment of me has more to do with my preference which you went into lengths about.

rainslacker2642d ago

I don't question people's individual excitement for any game, or at least dismiss it. I question why they find it exciting, because I just don't see it. The reason I question is because I'm trying to see why they're excited, because in the instance of this year, MS line up is just not something I traditionally see being all that gushed over. My question of CD3 is due to the fact that it's been known about for so long, but practically nothing has been shown of it. My question of SoT is because the game itself looks so pedestrian in design. I don't question the excitement for the other games, I just think people are hyping them up more than those kinds of games would typically have.

So yes, I ask people to tell me why they're excited. Sorry for asking the question. Sorry it hurts your feelings I would be curious why you're excited. God forbid I wonder what others think about something.

"There's no point in letting my emotions continue to ride and over repeating myself"

I can agree with that, but during that time, but I wouldn't call this comment exactly some reactionary statement from you. It seems rather logical and filled with objective analysis for what is best for you.

http://n4g.com/comments/red...

Compare that to a few days later, and now, and it's like night and day. So, is it your emotions that made you think that Scorpio may be worth being a bit more cautious about? Those should be the kind of emotions you should listen to, because they came from something that MS did that affected you. I hate to say this, but it would seem your emotions for the Xbox are actually hindering your critical judgement.

I'm not saying Xbox has no games, I'm saying it's current known line up is weak. Trying to be objective, there is just not enough there to really warrant the kind of hype that I see circling around it. CD3 has a cool sounding selling point. SoT is a new IP, and I can see why it could be exciting to some so don't really question it, have no clue why people get hyped for a new Forza every year, and SoD I can understand why it would have some following.

I'm not debating people to try and convince them they shouldn't be excited. I'm asking them why they're excited, and how the current line up warrants such hype.

Question though. If you are excited for the games, why not answer the question? Why not share why you're excited? Someone asks what people are looking forward to from Horizon, I answer. There are only a few people that I would cast judgement at if they asked such a question.

It's great you don't hold on to hate. but grudge? This is about what's best for you. If you think what they have to offer right now is fine, then so be it. But that doesn't mean others are going to think the same, nor avoid questioning why you have such low standards. I believe people should act like consumers before acting like fan boys....generally it'll serve them much better.

I know what issues you had with my comment. You're issues were that I made a comment. You still can't really say how the 4 games they have on offer right now somehow justify the hype that surrounds them, because you're spending more time trying to make me look bad.

@rainslacker

"I question why they find it exciting, because I just don't see it."

All well and good, there are a lot of games I don't particularly like and don't understand the reason others do like it. Opinions, preferences and different tastes are like that. What I don't understand is the need to require some one to explain themselves as to why they do like something or label a whole fanbase as delusional.

"Sorry it hurts your feelings I would be curious why you're excited."

No one's feelings are hurt. But no amount of them explaining to you will change you're opinion. I and others have explained our preference for Xbox in the past to you and yet here you still are, still not understanding anything, still asking why, still claiming that NO ONE can answer your tough questions. Lord forbid that someone can't just simply be excited without having to be cornered and told to explain why.

"Compare that to a few days later, and now, and it's like night and day."

Compare what? Where is the other comment from me that doesn't support my stance on Scorpio in your original link?

"Those should be the kind of emotions you should listen to,..."

Sorry, but those are the emotions that you and others feed off of, grudges you can't let go of. The effect of the cancellation wore off Rainslacker, and I took step back and realized there's still other games down the road. So instead of me crying about it for the months and months after the cancellation, I moved on, unlike others who want to still whine and bring it up, others who had no interest in MS, Xbox or their games.

Does Xbox One need more games, sure they do, I have said this before. Do I need to go into every single Xbox article and say this, no I don't. I leave that to you and others to keep that neon light blinking.

"Question though. If you are excited for the games, why not answer the question?"

I have, many times, others have also. But here's a question for you...

If you have no interest in Xbox, MS or their games then why do you even care about the people who do?

What don't you understand or get that a person would be excited for Crackdown the same way you're excited for Horizon?

This is what I mean, you want all these explanations for something you have no interest in.

"But that doesn't mean others are going to think the same, nor avoid questioning why you have such low standards."

Lmao, well that is so righteous of you Rainslacker. I am so glad that you have my best interest at heart. Thank goodness for the pure of heart gamers like you who want to help those with such "low standards".

So far you have proven my point and that quote from you just confirmed it. I own a PS4 and a Xbox One, I am missing out on nothing, it's just i'm not petty like you and others. I don't have a need to hate a company, ask people or have a person explain why they like a game. I'll always discuss why a game is horrible (No Man's Sky, Ryse, The Order), but I won't sit there and chastise a person like a child to explain it to me.

"...because you're spending more time trying to make me look bad."

Yea, smdh, it's all about you eh Rainslacker? How can anyone discuss anything with you when you're so narcissistic and defensive. I told you my issues with your past comment if all you take away was some sort of attack about you then there really is no point in someone "explaining" anything with you since your feelings get so involved and you hurt easily.

Halo, Gears and Halo...oh and most def Halo. Did I mention Halo?
Oh and Crackdown, which came with Halo.
Phantom Dusk
Fable (R.I.P.)
Wait a minute, I forgot to mention Halo.
Ok, ok....Forza also. You got me there.

WePlayDirty2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

Halo, Forza, Gears, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive. Ryse. Dead Rising 3?, Titanfall? Rise of the Tomb Raider?? Soon Crackdown 3, Cancelled: Scalebound, Fable Legends. Hey at least Xbox is trying this Gen. However, there isn't anything notably unique about their Lineup.

Absolutely agreed there first party is a complete House of Cards, all it takes is a couple games getting taken and everything just crumbles consider the most interesting games on that list in regards to new properties are not even owned by Microsoft

Gazondaily2643d ago

You actually make sense here and I agree. Cut the MASSIVE posts down a notch and people will read them.

_-EDMIX-_2643d ago (Edited 2643d ago )

@sep- no.

I'm not going to entertain your literacy deficiency.

I post for however long I feel it takes to convey the necessity of the post

Do you want pop-up books too? Do you know how many post I read on here that are just as long as my own? If somebody has a great point to make I'm going to read it through and through in fact I enjoy reading lots of users long post on here simply because they are certain situations that are not as simple as a couple sentences.

chances are if you can't read a long post I'm not sure you would even care about it in the first place

Or are you one of those "it's cool to be a fool" types?

I'm not sure when stupidity became some sort of thing to be proud of

Smh.

If somebody decides to not read my post cuz it was too long, they weren't smart enough to converse with me in the first place.

I'm sure there are some great memes online that you could entertain yourself with....

Gazondaily2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

Your previous account was called allformats wasn't it?

Not every post needs a massively long diatribe. It's not literacy deficiency; it's the ability to make a point succinctly and efficiently.

Reading long posts isn't a sign of intelligence. Especially when these posts are filled with nonsense. You have a remarkable ability to say a whole load of nothing in your massive posts.

_-EDMIX-_2642d ago

@sep- body I stopped reading your post a long time ago (short or long) if the beginning of them starts to sound like they don't really have a point or they're not on topic I actually just stop reading it.

Once again you're still off topic which goes to show that you're too scared to bring up any of the points actually really made about this subject.

Anything but to admit those statements might be valid huh? Lol

I love how suddenly the points brought up regarding MS are so pointless you seem to never be able to actually come up with a point to combat them lol 😂😂😂 28514;

Sure

Everyone on this site sorta knows your weakness bud. You seem to jump off topic if someone strikes a nerve so that way you could avoid actually addressing some significant points.

That's the problem, with the money they have why must they try? They could open up studios and produce high quality AAA games. It seems like they've given up.

rainslacker2642d ago (Edited 2642d ago )

I think the point of the article is where are they now? There is a huge discrepency between the first few years of Xbox, and what they seem to have on offer for this year. Even their Halo title is a mid-tier spin off.

Gaming is very much a "what have you done for me lately" kind of thing. If the games stop coming, or slow to a trickle, then people are going to start wondering what the parent company is doing, and when they are going to get more games they'd be interested in.

@Septic Below

You don't read long posts? that might be the reason you often can't respond to me when I make an argument, because when I write my long posts, the actual finality of my argument tends to be near the end.

Maybe I should offer you a cliff-notes PM for every post I write?

It was remade last year for PC , Now released and OPTIMIZED and PORTED for/to Xbox and PS5, not “remade” just for consoles.

“it follows a critically acclaimed release on PC back in 2023” that’s because it’s the same work/game. it’s not following/follow up or a continuation. Author Sounds like they are taking a stab at an article and don’t know the product-line lineage and release history/ hierarchy they are attempting to inform you about.

More appropriately: System Shock was first rereleased in 2023 on PC, System shock is now available on PS5 and Xbox.
