Pachter: Very few games will support the Xbox One Scorpio at launch , games which support PS4 Pro will definitely support Scorpio
In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz , Sony's Jim Ryan talked a bit about the PS4 Pro and how they had underestimated its demand.
According to Pachter, the PS4 Pro sales aren't doing very good. Maybe drop the price $50 and bundle in a game since Xbox One X is coming?
I love ps4 but if the x gives all the multiplat games at least 1080/60 and update past multiplat games then id go for the x.but id get a switch before ither😂
Spider-man’s show-stopping gameplay reveal stood out like a New York City skyscraper on the skyline of Sony’s unusually flat E3 press conference.
Pixel Related writes: "The majority of the excitement of E3 has passed already for this year and together we take a look at the big announcements and moments from all of the big press conferences. We’re talking Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, as well as the developer conferences of EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda. Tons of games, a handful of surprises and some serious questions about what kinds of drugs people are taking these days."
Thank you Wizard Man - the all seeing, all being, omnipotent being.
Microsoft can't force non- first party (or non-secondary partners) to patch their games for Scorpio.
But aren't pretty much all big 3rd parties supporting pro now with their upcoming games?? So that means all of them will support the scorpio as well. And MS are hardly going to release their own games without support for scorpio. so the first part of what he says doesn't really hold any substance. As for 4K, if they use a type of checkerboard rendering then I'd imagine that games WILL in fact be 4k via checkerboard for those that the machine can handle but if scorpio is just like an xbox one just with different hardware to give more resources for better looking games then yeah I doubt they will run in 4K, or at least not as often as people would like.
Im a PS4 Pro owner and can see this is BS. If a third party is supporting the Pro with patches and games, then more than likely they will do the same for the Scorpio. Though, not all, as the hardware is different... so it will take them adding a forth of fifth system(Xbox One, PS4, PC, Pro and Scorpio) to their development cycle. Hopefully games are as easily upgraded, as they are with the Pro. Though, like the Pro, support will vary from game to game, developer to developer. I wouldnt worry though, if youre planning on getting a Scorpio. I think the initial support will be thin, because developers will have to learn the hardware... but once they do, look out. You are going to have some incredible looking games. The Pro was no different at launch, but near every day you hear about another game getting a patch.
As far as 4K is concerned, I think the same will hold true for the Scorpio. First party and Indie titles will support native 4K and others will use Microsofts version of checkerboard rendering. Believe me when I tell you, you will not see much of a difference from native unless you are sitting inches away from a 4K desktop monitor. Even at 6tflops, it will be hard to keep current game quality at native 4K. Though, you guys will have more titles hitting that native number due to the added power. Again, it will vary from developer to developer.
Exciting times for gamers!
Shannon Loftis who is Microsoft Studios Publishing already said there First Party games are running at 4K native for the launch of Scorprio.
"“Any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K,” she said."
