I played the game all the way through and although I agree with certain aspects of the review like the frustrating camera control I actually got more of an ulcer from reading this review then I did from playing the game which besides a couple aspects including the aforementioned camera, was a fantastic experience that people shouldn't miss out on.

The camera and the controls were very annoying. But I really liked the game and it's mystique and intrigue. It's puzzles were fun and it told a great story without narrative.
My personal opinion of the game is 8/10

I thought it could have been a decent game if not for a bunch of infuriating issues such as a horrible, and tough to control AI. The beast just would never do what I wanted it to. I was sitting there trying to get him to dive underwater for nearly 10 minutes. Issues like that should not exist.

Lol. . . That wasn't easy at all. . .I tried everything except voodoo to get that beast to dive where I could grab onto it. Short of the few instances like that and the camera playing up the game was enjoyable. . 7/8 for me. . .there was a lot to like and there's no other game like it that I know of. It's a must play for the story and charm but still flawed in certain aspects.

i never saw a pet that answers everything you say, especially if you meet it in the same conditions as in the game.. the question is: how realistic do we want the games to be.
the game is perfectly thought through, and realism is apparently its weakpoint for some. weird !

Bouzebbal, I hate that excuse when people are trying to defend this game's AI not working. It's a GAME. I play games to enjoy myself. If it truly was intentional to have AI that completely ignores you, that is an awful design choice. Just because something is done on purpose doesn't make it good. Make the game functional. If we're talking about realism, I've also never seen a birddogcat in real life. I think it was something they struggled to fix and just claimed to have done it intentionally. It's not "realistic" in pretty much any other aspect, so I don't know why everyone is claiming they did it to make the game realistic.

Yea, I also don't buy the "by design" or "it was intended" for the AI of the dog bird. Being realistic doesn't automatically mean it would be great for a game especially for a puzzle, platform type like this one where you require the assitance of your pet most of the time.

The it acts like a real dog excuse is more of a defence for the AI just not working properly. The issues are frustrating considering this game had almost a decade to fine tune and polish everything.

Well I did get it to work as I completed it. . There was still a lot of things I didn't learn. Like wtf did that drum type noise indicate. . . . And a question I asked myself. . .why was I so intent on keeping trico clean and free of blood stains. . Spamming inputs is also counterproductive. Most of the time what I needed trico to do was logical once you understood the puzzle. . . It was a lot easier for me to command trico towards the mid to latter stages than the beginning. Play it a second time and you'll find it easier. . .No excuses but for me the ai wasn't anywhere near a game breaker. Handle yo itches
