Push Square: "There's no point in denying it: we have a massive man-crush on Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu here at Push Square. We've known the guy since the days of the PlayStation 2, and our admiration seems to grow with every new Yakuza title that makes its way to Western shores."

Kazuma Kiryu over Ryo Hazuki anyway
Every time I see Kazuma, I'm the hardest man.

Considering this is my first real experience with Yakuza, I'm inclined to agree. He has an intense presence, and I'm into it. I just took over as Majima a bit ago(got the bat fighting style), so I'm excited to see how his character unfolds.
I've heard a bit of how he is in the more modern(timeline wise) games, so I'm hoping to see a bit of that transition, if not all of it.
But yeah, Kiryu is not a guy you'd want to step to.
