GR got to grips with the quirky new brawler heading to Nintendo Switch later this year during the console's reveal in London.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "The Nintendo Switch has been one Nintendo’s most successful systems ever, both measured by the number of units sold and the quality of its titles, but if there’s one thing this generation has been missing it would have to be the Nintendo Selects line, bringing existing titles that had paid their dues back at bargain prices. With the Switch now entering its twilight years, and there being few new titles in store for the foreseeable future, what better time could there be to bring back this tried-and-true tradition? While the actual realization of it may be doubtful given how rigid both hardware and software prices have become in recent years, that only gives us all the more reason to dream up a hypothetical lineup of our own.
For this article the specific focus will not be on those massive multi-million evergreens that the lineup would no doubt contain a few of to cement its value, but instead on games that for one reason or another fell short of their full potential the first time around and deserve a second chance to reach more players at an affordable price. I really want Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, can't believe that hasen't been ported. I'm playing Skyward Sword at the moment and I'm almost finished, but it's so long and the controls are so bad, even without motion. Astral Chain is fantastic though, they should make a sequel.
Nintendo has prepared a new version 5.4.1 update for ARMS, and the official patch notes are now available.
They can't justify this game being a full retail game. Who are they trying to fool selling this for more than the current asking price of AAA title. Arms is another game that looks like it should be a budget release, and if it was on PS4 or Xbone it would be nothing more than a budget downloadable title. Nintendo fans are going to jump down my throat and tell me "its about the fun, its about the game" but to compare this to massive AAA budget game that has had years or work and investment, voice acting recorded, script written... and then charge MORE than that.. just no.
Arm's is Nintendo out of touch. Trying to pass this off as a "big" game for the launch window. And yet again, Nintendo fans will desperately clamber for any game, due the lack of releases and then try and tell everyone else that its god's gift to man. Do Nintendo really think games like this are going to win gamers over, when the other machines are releasing games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Crackdown 3 and getting Multiformats like Mass Effect Andromeda and Red Dead Redemption 2... (not to mention rich back catalogs at this point)
The game is to expensive, and Nintendo is throwing stuff at the wall trying to stick to the wrong market. Casual gamers will come and go. Disappear as quick as they appear (See Wii) Nintendo HAVE to learn that the "core" gaming market is the most sustainable. They are more likely to buy your consoles at launch and support you throughout the consoles life cycle with game, dlc, season pass and online subscription purchases. As long as you keep them happy, by keeping up with the expectations that the competition consoles make, then they will continue to put money in your pockets.
Nintendo haven't showed a single Modern, western AAA title for Switch. Bar maybe Skyrim, but thats 5 odd years old. Nintendo need to invest in first party Modern, western AAA. End of, Until then, they can't succeed or hope to compete.
