Exploit Leads to Thousands of Xbox One Users Downloading Watch Dogs 2 for Free

Thousands of Xbox One users have been able to download a free digital copy of Watch Dogs 2: Deluxe Edition from the Microsoft Store today, after a redemption code intended for a single-use only became indefinitely reusable.

they won't ban users. they'll claw back the licenses. there was a game i got for free once in a similar way. when I went to play it a few days later, it was still there but they told me i needed to buy the game.

happened many times in the past, usually the game just gets disabled.
they won't ban thousands of users over it, wouldn't be worth the loss in subscrptions and sales etc.

besides, none of us were ever going to buy the game anyway.

I wasn't interested In the game before it came out. Tried it today and I'm bored 2 hours in. It's a poor mans gta with the attitude of a poor mans saints row.

It's actually a really annoying game with this hipsters approach, so many stereotypes thrown into it.

What's funny is that I first started playing it and I liked the first one better. (I am one of those people that like the hobby of playing video games, weird, I know.)

After awhile (possibly more than 2 hours) I started to feel more immersed because I started doing the side missions which can be fun.

I'll complete it soon, it is a good game, but I am starting to wonder what people's expectations are anymore if not one game this year met them... those people might want to find a new hobby.

I actually preferred the original. I guess it's down to the tone, it was a bit more serious, slight crime thriller (my favourite genre). While the second was closer to a teen gangster, graffiti, hipster tone. Which came across as silly and unbearable.

I couldn't take the characters seriously. They reminded me of a cheap budget American sitcom.

As I still got it on my xbox, I may try give it another try. Maybe I can push past the dialogue. The ability to travel past a Base of bad guys with cameras and the 2 wheeled robot was rather fun.

Only issue with that is when you get spotted and you naturalised the guy who just saw you for a split second has already called back up, alerted everyone to your location and has the area on lock down. A tad annoying.

It might be a good bargin bin game. It feels like assassins creed meets the division with controls (hide behind cover aim press A to run to next cover), and ac free running hold r2/rt to climb and jump off things.

Driving feels really floaty, and can be difficult at times.
One mission I got 2 stars with the police and it took me a good 15 minutes to lose em.

Got far enough away and police just spawn in front of you and reset the timers.

Get for enough away and hide unnoticed. Police will just patrol the area you are in and find you within seconds.
I finally lost them by crashing into a garden right in front off the police but their A.I went all stupid and just walked off.
The police helicopter had me in his spot light and just flew away to check around the other areas.

It's a very marmite game. Some things are good and some are bad. It's just weighing up what you can stand and enjoy vs what's just annoying and bad.

The 'hip' attitude is actually a Persiflage and used ironically quite often in the game. It doesn't take itself seriously at all.

The game doesn't even get going in the first 2-3 hours.

I've tried continuing the game, and even after 4 hours, the game still didn't bump my interest.

It's all opinion, so I'm not saying everyone will hate the game, or everyone will like it. I've pointed out the reasons why I didn't enjoy the game. People should take it with a pinch of salt, as I've already mentioned, it's my own opinion.

@errorist76, you can jump into a game and tell from the get go that it's not going to be your cup off tea. Be it from poor controls, silly dialogue, the game doesn't take it's tone serious enough, it's fast pace, games too slow, so on.

I got more of an opinion off the game in the two hours, compared to the people who say it's bad based on it's trailer.
I think so far, I've spent about 4-5 hours on Watch Dogs 2, and my opinion hasn't changed much.

The best part of the game is the freedom to attack restricted areas how ever you feel fit, be it most times you'll mess up and just end up stun gunning everyone. But the planning, using cameras to view the area, plan routes with the bouncer bot, and setting traps is Watch Dogs 2's greatest strength.

Microsoft will quickly remove them just like they did with the Fallout price mistake. At least that was as legit price error. This was a whole different ball of wax and certainly bannable. It's going to be very easy to see who all used the key. Definitely not worth it for what will end up as a maybe 24 hour demo before it's deleted, at the risk of a ban.

Sounds like the right price, I got it for free with an Nvidia card and have already uninstalled it. It just doesn't feel as big or alive as GTA V and it runs considerably worse despite no appreciable visual improvements over what is now a 3 year old game.
