Final Fantasy VII Original vs Remake – Cult scenes reimagined

It’s been over a year since last presenation of Final Fantasy VII Remake and many of us are still waiting for more information and videos showing how the progress of developing is going on. In the meantime maybe it would be wort to revisit the original and look closely on how scenes from cult classic were reimagined already.

too bad they are changing it to an installment based game. The combat also isn't final fantasy vii at all and it will have a tough time standing up to the classic strategy based gameplay.

No it's not the same but from what I saw it still looks great. Hopefully they find a way to keep the materia system as close to what it was.

Yea I'm a turn base type of guy, I wished they would of kept it but of course a new and fresh updated way.

Well, we can still play the original. Or we can play this when it's out.

All in all, I'm pretty happy about that and don't need it to be identical other than graphics. I'm looking forward to the new version BECAUSE I loved the old version lol

it doesn't need to be identical, but I don't want them to throw away the original core gameplay either. The original version of the game is still popular, but it could definitely use an update in graphics. That's all square has to do really, update the graphics, adjust the controls (the original came out before analog sticks), maybe get rid of random battles, and smooth out the interface. But no, square thinks they can make this so much better by crapping all over it for some reason, even though they have not made a game nearly as beloved as final fantasy vii in the last nearly 20 years.

Yeah. It shouldn't have sequels it should be one game

I find it hilarious because they say how there's "so much stuff" and in the next sentence they go "We're adding lots of new areas and unseen things before to expand the game"

So why don't they just remake what we have already, fit it on one disc AND THEN add onto the story with whatever sequels, ones we don't feel like we need to buy

Sweet zombie Jesus the ps1 had some hot sh$tty graphics lol. Don't get me wrong it's the king of rpg's/jrpgs but damn those graphics

Lmao yea they definitely were. We are some of the lucky gamers to see the evolution of what was gaming to what it has become. Like you mentioned cgi, that whole cgi era was insane, alot of great rpg's with even greater cgi clips, no lie it molded the story and enhanced it. Early 90s era was conversation and interaction, then the advancement of putting little movie'esque clips in the games was mind boggling well for me. P.C users were always ahead lol

I swear I was blown away when Cloud got on the bike and drove down the stairs xD
But the same time I was also like "did he change his clothes??" Because the clothes were purple in game and black in the cutscene 😂

90s was when I was a kid so to me cutscenes and gaming go hand in hand so I find it strange when people complain about the likes of uncharted or the last of having cutscenes.

Yeah I think cutscenes are fine. I don't understand why someone would complain about them like they had something stolen from them. It's always nice to see some eye candy and story advancement in a cutscene. Others would say it breaks their immersion but I enjoyed it like a reward for playing.
