I mean I didn't think 130gb for 2 games and their updates was that bad but ya 46gb is less then 130gb. looking forward to both games.

TheUndertaker853167d ago

Yes, 130GB accounts for Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, and future DLC for Modern Warfare Remastered.

"The estimated storage space required for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (Legacy, Digital Deluxe, or Legacy Pro) is a combined 130 GB. This is a high-end estimate, which includes both games and any Day One updates, as well as the additional Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer maps to be released before 12/31/16."

https://support.activision....

KwietStorm_BLM3166d ago

So it installs all the DLC even before you buy it?

Kreisen3166d ago

Shocking how clueless people are nowadays, thinking 130 gigs is a perfectly normal size for a modern game. Even if they literally didnt bother with compression it still shouldve only been around 30gbs.

The only reason why games take up so much space is to force you to go out and buy a new hard drive. Its really no different from how Apple is now trying to force people into bying their overpriced headphones by not including a regular headphone jack in their phones.

Goldby3166d ago

@Kreisen

Conspiracy theory much. Sony doesnt make HDDs for their PS4s, you can put any Laptop hdd into the ps4 and on top of that you can also delete games and re install them when u want to play them. i'm still using my 500gb hdd with no issues. i don't have 30 games installed, just the 10 or so i use on a regular basis

TheUndertaker853166d ago

@Kreisen: What's shocking is those trying to insist 130GB is for just one game when it's been highlighted that it's actually two games, day one patches, and future DLC. Further 130GB is a high estimate, not an exact total.

As for the iPhone 7 every one includes a 3.5mm headphone adapter that runs into the lightning cable slot. They are also sold separately for $9 if a replacement is needed. Even if that wasn't the case any Bluetooth headsets will work, not just things produced by Apple.

Aenea3166d ago

But in a year's time when all the DLC has been released it will be around 80GB just like the other Battlefields!

Tru_Blu3166d ago

BF never shied away from huge update files that's for sure

formanbradley3166d ago

Funny how Battlefield's maps are like 5x-8x bigger than CoD's, DICE uses a cutting-edge engine (as opposed to an upgraded version of Quake), there are more weapons, attachments, and gadgets yet it still has a smaller file size than CoD.

_-EDMIX-_3166d ago

I mean...yes, but isn't that COD version with 2 games?

Buddy....please compare properly.

Deadpooled3166d ago (Edited 3166d ago )

The Modern Warfare Remaster is sub 40GB http://www.psu.com/news/312... leaving 90GB just for Infinite Warfare!!! 90GB for smaller maps and much less players on each server, running on a far worse engine (i.e. looks worse graphically and likely runs not as well as BF1 will), less weapons (no, that mix-n-match thing IW stated in the multiplayer trailer doesn't count) and gadgets, less usable vehicles and aircraft, and the campaign is likely nowhere near as demanding. And that doesn't include more space to be taken for future DLC in patches and season pass stuff regardless if the player buys it or not (in other words, Activision couldn't be arsed to put the standard version on disc and allow players to download the extra stuff they want, and decided to cram all the stuff ALREADY MADE and lock it up making up 90GB's of storage space).

The truth of the matter is casuals will continue to eat this stuff up, this time the nostalgia glitz and glamour of the 40GB Modern Warfare Remastered (locked to the IW disc) clouding their judgment making them forget why the IW reveal trailer on YouTube had over a million dislikes, and that E3 presentation gameplay which was cleverly put directly after the VR showcase to fool people. I'm surprised Activision has not got at least nominated let alone got the vote as the worst company in America.

_-EDMIX-_3165d ago

Thanks for the info Deadpool. I don't disagree with you at all in regards to how the data is allocated I just wish more people would be making the comparison based on both games and not based on a special edition or anything like that.

Also people are free to play what they like if someone wants to play the Call of Duty remastered there 100% free to I'm even ready to play that version when they sell it separately.

I mean I would buy Battlefield Bad Company 2 day 1 in a heartbeat as a remaster. I personally always loved the battlefield maps that get redone in the new engine.

I honestly don't know what you mean by casuals especially if you consider the most hardcore are going to be purchasing that version....

Seriously stop with the labeling and generalizations people play what they like , mind you I have zero plans to even purchase the next Call of Duty upon release, but I won't name call or generalize the fans that are

Deadpooled3166d ago (Edited 3166d ago )

Yeah RipCoD. I am going to enjoy the hell out of BF1 and the campaign on release day. My most anticipated game of the year after Uncharted 4, been a great year of gaming for me with the excellent Ratchet and Clank, great PES 17 and the surprisingly great WWE 2k16/17, hopefully this is the icing on the proverbial cake.

SirBradders3166d ago

True but wait until pro releases and eventually Scorpio, it gonna double.

I'm thinking of getting a 2tb ssd ready for when pro launches.

ARESWARLORD3167d ago (Edited 3167d ago )

Just pre-ordered this and the new Call of Duty for PS4 today figured they're giving you $15 back and you save the taxes so why not I just bought both standard editions also pre-order Titanfall for PC and picked up the new gears on PC which is quite good I know I'm off topic just thinking how fast hard drive space can fill up

Gitgud3167d ago

why buy all of those shooters at once? jeez man

Artemidorus3167d ago

The millennial theory right there.

Don't play one at a time and gain a discount possibly later.

Buy it all at once and no doubt repeat the process the following year.

MONOLITHICIDE3166d ago

exactly. no sense of saving. just buy buy buy. swipe swipe swipe my credit card.

81BX3166d ago

Maybe he has enough money to buy all of them... also i dont get why people care how others spend their $

Artemidorus3166d ago

The point is he is unlikely to play them all by next year and end up buying more games.

arkard3166d ago

You could have bought both at Best buy for far greater savings. 30 GCU membership + 48$ for Battlefield 1 + 48 for COD = 126 (but you also get 20 back in rewards certificates so really 106. GCU is good for 2 years saving you money on all future purchases. Plus these are physical copies so you can sell them for some money back if one sucks or you grow tired of it.

Psn you payed 105 and can't sell it and no further discounts.

Ripsta7th3166d ago

You guys wanna know why?
he prolly is fortunate enough to be rich and buy it whenever he wants
He can play them all on release day and thats when the games are most active

SpaceFox3167d ago

The PS4 Pro really needs to have a 2TB option soon, or more. Nowadays it takes nothing to go through 1TB and I'd rather have storage right out of the box than have to spend extra on replacing the hard drive. If they put out a 4TB PS4 Pro for 499 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Aenea3166d ago

Am kinda hoping the space for the HD is more than the 9mm of the PS4 so we can put 15mm drives in there. Of the height there are a lot bigger ones out there!

DragonDDark3166d ago

I think he means in it with ps4

SpaceFox3166d ago

Ummm I haven't seen a single model that came with 2TB,.

Utalkin2me3166d ago

Just buy a HDD and install a 2 TB and there is your 2 TB option. Cant believe people are still complaining about this when it so cheap and easy to install a new HDD.

SpaceFox3166d ago

Makes more sense to just make that the default knowing that 1TB is not enough these days. MS was smart with the Slim and made both 1TB and 2TB options. Doesn't make sense for the Pro to not keep up.

KwietStorm_BLM3166d ago

I'm being sarcastic. I'm saying just buy whatever hard drive you want.

46gb before the maps my last to games are anything to go by on my ps4 they will run 70+gb by the end. Hardline and BF4 did.

SuperbVillain3166d ago

cmon COD step the fuck up, you're game is nowhere near as demanding than BF, fucking stupid active vision pieces of shit

jer11223166d ago (Edited 3166d ago )

God you're an idiot people like you are so dumb. It's two games that you're installing not one that's why the file so big. How many retards that like you are going to keep making stupid comments. If you install Call of Duty infinite Warfare by itself it's 50 gigs do some fucking research . They're literally giving you an estimate of what it would be to install two games and all the DLC. If you remember correctly Battlefield 4 with all the DLC is like 65 gigs so it's pretty standard install. I don't get the big deal that people are making out all this obviously it's going to be a bigger install because you're installing two games. The common-sense level nowadays is just scary.

SuperbVillain3166d ago (Edited 3166d ago )

wow...someone needs some vagisil & midol. could have simply explained it without being a hurt cunt. the feminine tendency level in males nowadays is just scary

@utalkin2me

ranting and raving? i typed up one sentence complaining about the install size on COD. a sensible person would just explain it calmly instead of insulting people like a little angry female.

Name calling? you're girlfriend started her reply with calling me an idiot. of course ill say something back to that. seems like youtwo have gotten your feelings hurt for some reason it's ok, it's what i expect from this new sensitive era.

Utalkin2me3166d ago (Edited 3166d ago )

@SuperbVillain

Says the guy ranting and raving over over stuff he has no clue of what he is talking about. You come off as a douche then when someone calls you out on it, you act like a little 5 year old with name calling and such. Some people just dont get it.

DICE Needs To Recapture The Magic Of Battlefield 1 In The Next Game

For DICE to succeed with its next game, it has to return to the roots of the franchise. Atmospheric map design, clear and defined class-based gameplay, attention to detail, and total chaos. Battlefield 1 feels like every rock, every glint on your sniper rifle, every falling brick from a collapsing church, has been painstakingly considered. So much care went into the design of the game, from its soundtrack to its costume department. To stand a chance alongside the behemoths of Treyarch and Infinity Ward, DICE needs to recapture what made their old games so brilliant, otherwise it’s all over.

"DICE Needs To Recapture The Magic Of Battlefield 3 In The Next Game"

/Fixed

...on a serious note, DICE needs to remove the Battlefield name.

isarai942d ago

Eh, bfbc2 was the peak for me, only ad dogfighting and the accommodations that come with it. Every BF after that was such an unsatisfying progression system for weapons and gear for the classes, 90% of the guns feel exactly the same when you unlock them, just felt boring in comparison. Not to mention the gimped destruction as the series progressed

Sciurus_vulgaris942d ago

I found Battlefield 1 to be overrated. The gameplay was simpler and less strategic than its predecessors. Battlefield 1 did have a woo-factor, but the gameplay got repetitive faster than Battlefield 4 in my opinion.

porkChop942d ago

If DICE needs to return to the roots of the franchise then why would they look at Battlefield 1? BF1 is overly simplified and streamlined. What DICE should focus on is Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2. Those two games were the pinnacle of the franchise.

TheEnigma313942d ago

BC2 was the best. they need to get back to that.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw2501172d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface1171d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop1172d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno1172d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel1173d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps1172d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge1028881172d ago (Edited 1172d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k331172d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge1028881172d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH1172d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

Grabbed Panzer Dragoon, the Darkness, Conker Reloaded, Burnout Revenge, Time Splitters 2, Fight Night Champions, and Stuntman Ignition.

Essentially some of the classics that I can't get on PC, now that I have a Series S.
