Best for PlayStation VR: A Guide to the PlayStation 4, Slim and Pro

Got that PlayStation VR pre-order secured? Cool. But which PlayStation 4 console will you run it on?

sonicwrecks3188d ago

Will be interesting to see if the Pro will unlock any additional, as yet unspoken benefits of the PSVR. If you've not got a PS4 and want to get PSVR its good that you've got the options though.

They showed that for Farpoint at least they could render twice the number of pixels on the Pro...

It was the only VR game they talked about tho...

VR is one of the areas that benefit from the PS4Pro's power.

I don't see much of a benefit to PS4 Pro right now. Fine if you're buying a new PS4 or your current one busts, but I won't be upgrading immediately.

The Slim's lower price is likely to attract new customers, eventually leading to more PSVR sales. I really don't think the Pro will, even if it can slightly improve the experience.

The big question is what 4K screen your going to use. Everyone is going to upgrade eventually to PS4 Pro or PS5.
90%-95% of HDTV owners, do not own a 4K tv. What is an affordable 4K tv with HDR10 feature this Black Friday is the burning question especially if your getting PS4 Pro/PSVR this November.

If I find a decent price on that HDR10 feature.........I'm probably picking it up this year.

Is HDR10 like the latest HDR tech or something?

I have a 4K but i dont know if its got HDR. How can one find out?

esmittystud1013188d ago

The specs to your tv/HDR is probably in the manual or on the box your tv came in.

Link for PS4 Pro information I found today. I'm actually having trouble finding those HDR specs when searching for a TV online myself. I'm thinking currently there are two versions of HDR out now but there could be more. Just not HDR tech friendly yet myself. I just don't know that much about it.

Great for Marvel Tokon Fighting
Souls (which looked amazing).

It can also be used wired which is fairly important to note. Anybody using this thing competitively won't go anywhere near wireless.
