PS4 Exclusive Yakuza 6 Looks Almost Photorealistic In new Screenshots on Famitsu

Today the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu had a batch of screenshots of the upcoming PS4 exclusive Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, that will be released in Japan on December 8th.

I have seen no consensus of critic or gamer reviews that indicates this lol. I beat the first 2 and the stories were great. But no where on the internet are Yakuza games considered one of the best gameplay experiences lol.

Have you watched the gameplay from the pack-in demo that came with Valkyria Chronicles? It's a generational leap, not only in terms of visual but gameplay affecting tech too such as relatively more freeform movement, and seamless presentation between gameplay, cutscenes and even moving between buildings.

I may get flamed for this but I really think Japanese games, on average, look behind the times. Not always mind you. It just seems like Middleware was something japan never really adopted like the west. As such things look outdated. Especially when it comes to character modeling and animation.

Like Yakuza is far from the only IP that has the same gameplay here. Put a bit of spit and shine on a game doesn't make it new or innovative, just makes it look different but play the same.

I find Yakuza 5 to be enjoyable because of the multiple characters.

I hope Yakuza 6 has as much diversity

FallenAngel1984--- to me i thought yakuza 5 was a step back compared to three and four story wise. the story was a bit predictable plus the base ball segment was not fun to play at all haruka story was a fresh take on everything and really enjoyed that hopefully they bring something new to the game in six and i'm looking out for yakuza zero cant miss it

Yes, they need to bring Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan! and Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! to the west. Even though they are set in Feudal Japan that doesn't mean that they won't appeal to people in the west. To me they are the most interesting in the series.

i really want to test out the karaoke with Goro Majima that guy is the best when you want a little laugh Kiryu and Haruka has some good ones as well. btw have you seen the songs that's going to be in zero ? so far heartbreak mermaid and rouge of love is the best i have seen so far. lol i may sound like some crazy fanboy but it's nothing like that i'm just excited to play the game.

That doesn't look photorealistic at all. I mean the wall textures don't even have ambient occlusion. The envirnment in the first picture looks to have no details (Just look at the stones), the second screenshot looks a bit more believeable. If you want photorealistic, go have a look at some of the GTA mods. *-*..... Damn those mods are sweeet.
