Respawn: Rate of Players Dropping on First Titanfall "Identical" to Every Other Game's

While the first Titanfall didn't see a PlayStation release due to EA and Microsoft's exclusivity deal, the game was still considered a success. Having said that, one problem players had with it was the actual player base, which, to be fair, is a problem every multiplayer shooter encounters not named Call of Duty and Battlefield.

I actually found matches quicker on Titanfall than I did on Battleborn

Completely true. Titan fall still has and always had a large enough player base. It's normally the fans against the game that say it's dead.

I do recall Titan fall being trashed a lot. I assume Titan fall 2 will be equally trashed by many in these forums.

That said the game still has a good player base.

The funny thing is even if Xbox is going a way (which of course it's not) that's a BAD thing for you. Competition makes companies innovate, and work HARDER to earn the business of consumers. So MS keeps Sony on its toes, and vise versa. I don't even know why I try but I guess I'm a gluten for punishment.

I played this game about as long homefront. From March to july. That's it.

It's not appealing to me to play in a lobby against only 8 players and then against bots.

It was as good as it gets. And this titanfall 2 will be the same thing. As good as it gets. It will not be better. Just the same.

If it looks the same then it is the same.

Thank god for bf1. I'm not a fanboy of anything. I play alot of games.

Mostly on PC is where it lost its numbers. It had a decent user base on the XB1 for over a year. The game was still great. I did need a single player campaign though.

Know that devs shouldn't talk badly about their games, at the same time when it fails, when they've clearly messed up in the production process, they need to own up to it. Not say that it was only a success.

Wasnt the most sustained game ever for a few reasons (DLC, console platform exclusivity, percieved lack of content ect). But when all is said and done I can easily jump into a game whenever to this day. That enough for me.

edit: not that i play titanfall with any consistency atm.

Player base did drop quite a bit.. but for obvious reasons..

Solid game but lacking in content.. plus other games releasing etc.. it's still plenty playable and no issues getting a match. But fewer players means more of a spread, more latency.. it wasn't nearly as fluid and damn near perfect as it was when it launched

Well how old is the game? Do people expect a game like this to keep it's user base the same for years after it's release? Especially in this genre on consoles.

Doesn't matter how old the game is, they were talking about the drop within the year of its release. They state that it's the same as any other game that is similar...yet fail to realize that it only happens to other games (COD, BF) because they release a new game and people go to that, not because it falls flat. They stay pretty consistent with numbers till the next installment comes out.

Respawn knows this, and they're trying to play dumb. They only MADE cod what it is today and they're butt hurt their fanbase didn't leave cod for titanfall. The PR spin on this is laughable. I actually bought the game at launch for PC and played it for about a month. It didn't take long till the price dropped and they pretty much gave the dlc away. It's no wonder they hit 7 million.

That's where having offline multiplayer vs bots would be beneficial. That used to be a standard thing (e.g Battlefield 2).

I really enjoyed the first titnafall a lot on the xbox 360, but yeah, it could be hard to find games and a I moved to PS4 and havent tried since. I really hope it does well on PS4, I am really looking forward to Titanfall 2.

Only cod, BF have really sustained a player base this gen for shooters. Only Siege and Overwatch are games I think haven't died off in a week or 2 and Siege is even growing. Titanfall was good but had the issue of being hated on for not being on PS4. TF2 only needed more content as the gameplay was pretty much perfection.

I was completely tired of titanfall after I played if on that one origin free weekend. The 2 hours I played it was enough for me.
