Titanfall Sold More Than 7 Million Units

Titanfall sold more than 7 million units according to the latest transcript released by EA regarding their Q1 2017 earnings call.

Just because a device sells more does not mean the install base is bigger not saying it isn't just use coming sense alot of people bought a couple ps4, I own the Darth Vader and destiNY bundle ps4 but play my xb1 way more doesn't mean ps4 install base is bigger. The xbox has probably sold more than "half" of the PS4, to assume the xbox One has only sold 22m is just stupid.

Xbox will more than likely be past the 30m mark now but still not close to PS4.

I have this game but lack the system to play it on. Unfortunately i can't say I contributed to that number of units sold as I got mine from GS in a 4 for $20 promo but soon I should be getting a system to play it.

At least reasonably released numbers count, X1 has about 10X the install base it did when TF's prime selling period(3 months of release) ran out. So probably will do better there as well.

I doubt it... between Overwatch, the ripoff CoDs and Battlefield 1 (not to mention the slower pace and nerfing of cloud-based AI) , I don't see it selling more than 5mil before it hits EA Access - regardless of it's 'meaningful' campaign or multiplat status.

That said, I'll be getting it - I still play the original, which I consider the best FPS of the current-gen's 'pre-Overwatch' era... it just feels like the appeal has worn off since every second FPS became a jet-packing, wall-running knock-off.

Titanfall was a great game but we all know "how" it sold 7M units.
Because of extremely cheap sales just 4months after release.
They even gave out Season Passes for FREE.
And not to mention, they're including all unique players "sales" from EA Access program where Titanfall is kindof free.

It will be interesting to see how Titanfall 2 will do.
We KNOW it's a quality product, but because of competition like BF1, CODIW, CODMWR and GOW4...it will be tough to sell above 7M units.

What they really need to do is market the game by pointing out the developers are the ones who made COD mainstream. COD4MW was the one that launched this series to the moon. I think a lot of people who are getting tired of the COD yearly vibe could be swayed over to Titanfall if they knew who was behind it. I think Titanfalls is one of the best FPS I have played this generation. Destiny mastered their FPS elements, but the game has been handled terribly post release. It sounds like Titanfall 2 is much more massive then the original. Lets hope they listened to the short comings and really deliver a stellar experience.

I think it will sell more, because it will have single player story mode. Online only turns a lot of people off, and when they shut the server the game ceases to exist.
And Yes. of course.... the excuse you could say for every Console exclusive or 100% exclusive game.... making the game available to more platforms... will obviously push more sales..

Titanfall was a really good game that became great when the dlc dropped. Im sure Titanfall 2 will be a even greater game.

I disliked it because it was MP only. I'm not an Overwatch player either because of that reason, but I do like the idea of Overwatch a lot more because of the diversity of characters and the loot boxes so even if you don't have the time to play much you still get something out of it rather than looking at the leader board all the time and seeing the people who play all the time get the most out of the game.

If the Titanfall 2 campaign turns out to be good (from impressions, reviews) I'll buy it for that. I wasted money buying Titanfall 1 and I did it because of the hype and that they were promising some over-arching story that turned out to be mostly BS.

It wasn't a lie at all. That story was well documented, that it was only possible on Xbox One because of MS support with cloud services at a reasonable cost. Sony didn't even respond to Respawn, let alone make an offer, thus it was only possible on XB1 and PC.

To be fair, at least with Titianfall, you are comparing PS4 only sales to the sales of it on Xbox One, PC, and 360. Streetfighter V is a KNOWN incomplete game and it's in a genre that has become more niche in the last 2 generations. We won't know about Tomb Raider until it's released. Halo remains a beast!
