PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U: Best upcoming exclusives

"For most gamers what’s important is that a console has awesome exclusive titles. Specs and graphical power don’t matter when a console doesn’t have any good games for players to look forward to. So to help you find out what is the best console to own this year, we’ve listed the best upcoming exclusive titles that are coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Wii U."

CoNn3r_B2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

The Last Guardian and Horizon: Zero Dawn vs Crackdown 3, Scalebound and Gears of War 4.

In terms of quantity I would say Xbox One but in terms of quality I'm leaning towards PS4.

All the Wii U has up its sleeve is Zelda U really and I've never been a Zelda fan so I can't judge.
I don't know much about the other titles in this article so I can't really judge.

Edit: I'm aware that Scalebound and Crackdown are next year but the title of the article is "PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U: Best upcoming exclusives" it doesn't specify that it has to be 2016.

Kingthrash3602943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Quantity?
Add gravity rush 2, the tomorrow children, drawn to death, GT sport, persona 5, nioh, neir2, to name just a few....want more? Dreams, the vr games launching....lol
Scale bound and crackdown come next year

CoNn3r_B2943d ago

And the xbox has Halo Wars 2, Cuphead, ReCore, Sea of Thieves, Gigantic, Tacoma and We Happy Few. Does it matter who has more? It's the quality of the game and not the quantity and as it stands I'm only looking at The Last Guardian, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Gears of War 4.
Scalebound may be good but it hasn't interested me yet.

JackMania2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

@Kingthrash360 I like how you're getting all defensive for the PS4 when they're saying that the PS4 has better exclusives. I think someone is just looking for an argument.

Kingthrash3602943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Saying ps4 has better exclusives is his opinion ....I was pointing out FACTS. It's not my opinion That the ps4 has a larger >> QUANTITY<< of exclusives..it's fact.
He, you and I have a right to opinion , so why would I trip on his?
He said the Xbox has a larger quantity ...that's false and the reason for my comment.

Braxmapoutras2943d ago

And I own both Xbox and ps4 wich makes me super happy :-D
And if Nintendo ups it's game and pull out of its ass the information about NX maybe I'll wait for it and buy it...if not I'll just pick an uber PC setup and next year we'll see :-)

s45gr322943d ago

So Xbox One has no exclusives this year. The PS4 exclusives this year are:

Let it Die
GT Sport
The Last Guardian
Dreams

PSVR games will be like PS Move games: technical demos nothing more nothing less.

AngelicIceDiamond2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Dying argument, its whatever exclusive your most hyped about on the console you play the most on. It really doesn't get any simpler than that.

You're definitely missing out on Zelda. One of the best franchise of all time.

CoNn3r_B2943d ago

I was always a PlayStation kid when I was growing up and never really got a chance to play a Zelda game and I just never thought about buying a console just to try out a game.

ShadowKnight2943d ago

I was a Playstation and Nintendo Kid when growing up and I'm glad that I experience great games from both platforms. From Crash Bandicoot to Super Mario Bros.

remixx1162943d ago

same, was a playstation nintendo kid growing up.

Chivas112943d ago

Scalebound? Didn't MS delay it for 2017

Majin-vegeta2943d ago

I like how OP forgot to mention NI OH,KOF XIV,GT Sport on PS4

Gazondaily2943d ago

Did you really like it though?

The title isn't called 'All upcoming exclusives'

DaDrunkenJester2943d ago

He also forgot to mention plenty of other Xbox games also...

s45gr322943d ago

Which ones that are not coming to PC. Oh that's right there is only Gears of War 4 lol

ShadowKnight2942d ago

Gears of War 4 is coming to PC it just hasn't been confirmed yet.

s45gr322943d ago

Is Ni Oh coming this year or next year. Nier 2 is definitely coming next year along with the tomorrow children. This year the PS4 has exclusives. The Xbox one only exclusive (on one platform) is Gears 4, that is it.

Coming to PC:

Cuphead
Sea of thieves
Recore
Obviously Halo Wars 2
Tacoma
We Happy Few

Glad I stuck with a PC and did not bought the xbox one (waste of money). I may buy a PS4, but I just can't go back to paying $60.00 for games nor pay to play online, much less a corporation picking my gaming library.

Yui_Suzumiya2943d ago

Tacoma and We Happy Few are timed exclusives also coming to PS4 eventually

TGG_overlord2943d ago

Nice list =) It leans more towards the PS4 for me though.

Dabigkahuna762943d ago

Nx with Zelda hands down please be a true Zelda without a gimmick

superchiller2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

They're not going to talk about the NX, but let's be honest here, it's Nintendo; you know that the NX will be based around a gimmick. That's the only way Nintendo can try to set themselves apart, they don't have the technical expertise to design any kind of competitive gaming hardware.

EddieNX 2943d ago

They don't have the technical expertise? That my friend is pure Bullshit... The N64 and Gamecube were both more powerful than the PS1 and 2 respectively. The reason they make innovative, different hardware is because they CHOOSE to.

If Nintendo decide to make a console that is powerful they can easily do it without really trying at all.

MrSec842943d ago

To be fair Nintendo can use the same partners as anyone else, like AMD to develop a new SOC (which is most likely what's going to be in the NX console).
Nowadays console makers don't tend to design chipsets internally, they farm that out, but use hardware architects to research technologies available to them and then go with the best partner vendor to provide for their requirements.

End performance depends on cost and form factor the final product, so if Nintendo makes those factors large enough then they can certainly have a decently powerful enough system to manage modern 3rd party games.
Something 50% more powerful than PS4 would be able to handle Battlefront at 1080p 60FPS and using AMD Polaris tech for the GPU (which isn't that expensive) the costs wouldn't be too high.
Given that AMD has 14nm technology they can put fewer GPU cores in and clock that higher to outperform current console quite easily, while still being less energy hungry.

KaladinStormblessed2943d ago

"They don't have the techincal expertise"...that right there just discredited every Nintendo hate comment you've ever made. Making a powerful console is probably the easiest thing any company could do. Nintendo simply decides to come up with new ideas (that aren't always good).

superchiller2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

@ Kaladin - Well, if they do actually have the expertise, explain why the Wii U was so poorly designed? The console has the following design flaws:

No internal HDD (or even a bay for one)
Weak CPU
Weak GPU (by 8th generation standards)
No analog triggers on any controllers
No Ethernet port
Pitiful 2gb of RAM (with only 1gb available for games) - far less than the competition
Old, slow USB 2.0 ports (USB 3.0 had been out for many years when the Wii U launched)
Inadequate battery in the gamepad

These flaws could all have been avoided, if Nintendo had the internal expertise to really focus on building solid, competitive hardware. Whether they were just being cheap or not, they really should have done a better job of designing the Wii U.

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88192d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183191d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie191d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

5 Video Games That Should Have Been Shorter, and 5 That Should Have Been Longer

I always have a problem with games that should have been longer when lasting 8-10 hours.
Here's a question I ask all the time when ppl say that.
How many times have you replayed the story of a great game like Tlou2, GOW, Final Fantasy remake, GTA, Zelda, or any other 20 hours plus game? and usually, the answer varies between 0 and rarely 1.

So what's the point of having great 30 hours plus games if you will never replay them because of level, section, grinding dragging too long?

Lifexline506d ago (Edited 506d ago )

I agree I’m not sure how people find the time to play all these games. 20 plus hour games are great but for me 8 to 10 is the sweet spot. Those games take to long to finish specially when you have a backlog of games waiting to be played. Plus 20 plus hour games always have downtime and unnecessary side quests that can be boring too much fodder imo.

Being on your phone is one thing you can access websites like this everywhere on your phone or mobile gaming. But games you have to find the time to play them. Which is why I don’t understand why so many people want like ten games it seems In a month.

LucasRuinedChildhood506d ago (Edited 506d ago )

I think you're missing the point a bit.

A game can be 8-10 hours long and use that time really well, but it can also only start to get good far into the playthrough and leave the player feeling short-changed.

Hotline Miami is only 4-5 hours long but it's extremely well paced and time well spent. But if only got really good towards the end, I'd want it to be longer.

Stanjara506d ago

You just look at trophies and se that around 20% or less actually finish their games.

CrimsonWing69506d ago

I've replayed all those games except GTA and Breath of Wild because I can never finish them.

The Last of Us 2 i've replayed 4 times. God of War (2018) 2 times, Final Fantasy Remake 3 time (technically Intergrade twice since went on Steam and I wanted 100% achievements), and if we do want to bring in Zelda I've played Ocarina of Time probably 4 to 6 times a few times on N64, another time on 3DS, and twice on virtual console Wii and Wii U.

I am sure I'm not alone in replaying long games and honestly it's like I'm finished within a week or two and that with balancing responsibilities and a social life. Shorter games take even less time.

BrainSyphoned505d ago

Without mentioning Skyrim.. I've got two platinum trophies for Persona 5 and am playing it on game pass right now. Beat FF7R on normal twice and hard once and will play it again before the next one. Non story games- MHW I've made characters on PC/Xbox/PS with at least 600 hours on each platform. I don't care to play a mediocre games that are 8 hours long. The reason my backlog is so long isn't because that many good games are released each year it is because I replay the best ones over and over. Same deal with audio books. I've gone through book series multiple times every time a new one is coming out.

Disagree with Days Gone - yeah it took a while to really get going, but I appreciated it when I was done. Jumping right in at 4-5 hrs or whatever would've made the rest feel less impactful. RDR2 and Mankind Divided felt just right too, I wouldn't change them at all.

What needed less time was AC Valhalla. I was more than ready to be done with that by the time it was 2/3 over. Just too much useless stuff, and I hated the Asgard sections.

Ranking The Gears Of War Games From Worst To Best

The Gears of War series has been a consistent deliverer of quality for Xbox, but which games are the best?

KicksnSnares731d ago

Gears of War is my favorite video game franchise, and the Locust is my all-time favorite faction.

My rank list:
1. Gears of War 2
2. Gears of War 3
3. Gears of War 1
4. Gears of War 4
5. Gears of War 5
6. Gears of War Judgment (No Locust in multiplayer was a disgrace)

ChasterMies730d ago

Agree 100% with this ranking. The campaign in Gears of War 2 is among the most fun campaigns ever made. It’s been downhill from there.

Zombieburger638730d ago

I’d say gears 2 and 3 are pretty even. I absolutely loved both of them.

darthv72731d ago

2 is still my favorite but 5 is also up there (for me). Then I'd say 1, 3, 4 and Judgement. Tactics isnt the same type of game, so it seems odd to rank it among TPS when its a strategy game. So I make that one all its own. Pretty fun game too.

Jericho1337730d ago

The first is and has always been the best one imo - the story, the levels, the set pieces, the soundtrack - as close to perfect as a campaign can get.

I’d say the series had been on a continual downhill slide until 5.

Om4ever730d ago

Naaaan ... 2 is the best by far

MadLad730d ago

3
5
2
1
4
Judgement

I love the series as a whole, but 4 was pretty by the numbers, and Judgement was just ok.

LoveSpuds730d ago

I played them all since picking up a Series X about 7 months ago. Personally, I don't think time has been kind to the earlier games and they feel very slow and repetitive to play. Whilst the newer games may be prettier, they stick with the original gameplay mechanics too much in my view so as a whole series of titles, I think they are pretty average games.

Not to say they weren't fun and I have a lot of nostalgia for 1 and 2, I just think there are far better action games out there.
