FGE - A high-definition digital restoration of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy X was recently released on Steam. FFX was the first Final Fantasy game released on the PlayStation 2, back in 2001, and I remember being totally blown away. Playing through this classic from my childhood in glorious HD brought back all of those intense feelings of awe and wonder I felt the first time I played this game, and I was reminded of just what an impact the mystical world of Spira had on my younger self. Being overcome with nostalgia was predictable, but nostalgia has a funny way of masking the imperfections of things you once loved unconditionally. This isn’t the case with FFX. This game is just as much fun playing through in 2016 as it was over a decade and a half ago, and it has most certainly stood the test of time. FFX’s story is one of the best in the Final Fantasy series, a compelling tale of brave heroes facing off against religious fanaticism and corruption.
Nevada Dru from Bits & Pieces explains why he still loves Blitzball after all these years.
I haven't played Blitzball in years, since FFX was a new game back on PS2. I remember the first game that you must play as part of the story was incredibly hard, I restarted it many times until I won. I eventually beat every team and got every unlock in the game except for the damn lightning bolt dodging.
I got 197 / 200 and gave up when I got hit that far in.
Best final fantasy side game ever
I don't even go for Wakka's stuff the fast way, I just do the 100 games any time i do it
Best mini-game ever. It was almost an entire game in itself. You could even talk to anyone in the FFX world to see if they played it and try to recruit them. And don't even get me started on playing against high level opponents. This was amazing.
blitzball is great. most people who don't like sports probably should stick to card mini games.
