Wow, so many terrible reviews for a game that was supposed to be a huge success on the Wii U. What was Nintendo thinking when they made this game? Did they even play test it before release? What a huge disaster.

deafdani3312d ago (Edited 3312d ago )

Sigh.

Hater hating and, yet again, only showing his face on a negative review, but not showing up at all on any of the positive ones.

This isn't a "disaster", you're blowing this way out of proportion in your happy hate crusade against everything Nintendo. It's exactly what it is: a game with a mixed critical reception.

superchiller3312d ago (Edited 3312d ago )

No, not "hating", just really surprised that Nintendo would allow a broken game like this to be released. It was supposed to be a huge hit on the Wii U, but clearly it bombed.

69 overall score on Metacritic, with most reviews mentioning the terrible controls. A mediocre game at best.

There were very few "positive" reviews for Star Fox Zero, and the few I saw were from diehard Nintendo fansites that rave about anything Nintendo releases, no matter how bad it is.

Bottom line, Nintendo obviously never play tested the game, because if they did, it would never have been released in its current state.

The game isn't broken, dude.

Broken means unplayable. Star Fox Zero is perfectly playable.

Yes, it has an unconventional control scheme. But it works.

A broken control scheme means it's unresponsive, imprecise, and / or slow. Star Fox Zero has none of these issues.

And speaking of Metacritic: there are more positive reviews than negative ones. Let's take a look at the score tally.

http://www.metacritic.com/g...

100 to 90 = 3.
89 to 80 = 20.
79 to 70 = 22.
69 to 60 = 17.
59 to 50 = 7.
40 = 1
20 = 1

As for your claim about the high scores being given by Nintendo websites. Take a look at Metacritic, again. You will have to scroll all the way down to place #18 to see the first score given by a Nintendo-centric website... and it's an 80. There are exactly three scores given by Nintendo websites, and all of them gave it an 80. All of the other scores were given by non-Nintendo sites.

If we can agree that a "good" score range from 70 to 100, then those "good" scores given by Nintendo websites are only 3... out of a grand total of 45.

Again, Star Fox Zero is exactly what I said it to be: a game with a mixed critical reception. Not a disaster, as you put it.

So, the real bottom line here is that yes, you're "hating". You aren't looking at the facts. Again: you're so blindsided by your Nintendo negativity that you're cherry picking the most convenient facts for your hate crusade. Seriously, it's astounding how one-sided you are on everything regarding Nintendo.

Here's the thing: you actually say some things that are true, in many of your posts. But you smear the very same posts by also spouting irrational hate against Nintendo and hyperbole (just like you're doing about everything regarding Star Fox Zero, for example), that your opinion completely loses its merit.

Calm down and try to be a bit more objective. You seem capable of that, at least regarding other consoles and other games, so do the same about Nintendo. At least trying that wouldn't hurt.

Random: Takaya Imamura Ponders The Possibility Of Star Fox Zero On 'Switch 2'

It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

Star Fox Zero, Was it Really That Bad?

Has time been kind to Star Fox Zero? Does the game have any redeeming qualities that are worthy of revisiting? Should it be considered for a port to the Switch? Was it really that bad?

Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.

Vits1314d ago

It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.

CptDville1313d ago

Those controls. Boring and frustrating at the same time. Only with co-op they were bearable, but co-op was restricted to finished levels.

SeTTriP1313d ago

Yes couldn't finish it it was so boring.

MissAubrey1313d ago

controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..

Einhander19711313d ago

No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really

I’d rather Star Fox Assault be brought to Switch with online multiplayer instead

Teflon021363d ago

Finally, someone who knows about Assault. Best Star Fox Multi-player imo.

Neonridr1363d ago

or a Star Fox 64 remaster instead.

deadfrag1363d ago

Platinum Games wants to many things but sadly it does not show nothing new for years! They try to jump on all offers but end finishing none!

whitbyfox1363d ago

1: Get rid of the motion controls.

2: Bring us Okami 3.

Good-Smurf1363d ago (Edited 1363d ago )

I rather have them show more of Bayonetta 3 first before they talking about any new project.
This reeks Inafune's funding for Red Ash and Mighty No.9 animated series, both never materialized.
