9 foot cable makes it ideal for potential room to room travelling. Or at least free roam in the gaming area.

UnHoly_One3297d ago

That's awfully short. A 9 foot cable wouldn't even reach from the console to my chair.

I have small rooms. So it'd fit my purpose.

Why does the article say that a wireless controller is a must have accessory, when it is the standard controller included in the purchase of the system?

Anyways, for less than the price of this WIRED charge cable ($10 on sale) and one battery I've got a wall charger and 4AA 2500mah rechargeable Energizer batteries. When one set dies I put it on the charger and get another 35-40 hours on the new set... and I'm always wireless. I still get 20 hours or so with a stereo headset plugged in! If wireless is a must have accessory then rechargeable AA batteries are the way to go.

It's a funny argument I have read when you have the one side with a controller that has the battery built in vs the other side with the batteries being replaceable and yet they both don't seem to realize they are both in the same overall common ground of using wireless / cordless controllers.

Personally I prefer the user replaceable option to a fixed design because it allows me the choice of what to use. I have had one of those fixed batteries no longer hold a charge and replacing the whole controller is an option but so is opening up the controller and replacing the internal battery with another specialized battery.

When that battery begins to no longer hold a charge I'm just going to get a longer USB cord. As for my other controller... yeah that one I keep an extra set of batteries always at the ready. Seeing as they are the same in many of my other devices I always have them on hand.

AvP on the Jag was pretty ambitious for the time. I always wondered what a smoother (faster) frame rate would have done for that game. nice to see a spiritual sequel is in the works after all these years.
