For me since I have a Galaxy note, PS4, and a PC rig, it is Gears VR. $99 and full VR to start with. If I want the best and most powerful, it is Oculus or Vive.

the absolute cheapest way is the google cardboard. there are already apps that can split the image into the VR stle. you just need the viewmaster to put your phone into and that gets your foot in the door.

It's definitely the cheapest and it's pretty neat, but I do think most serious gamers are going to want a more advanced and refined VR.

I'm going to have to pay a total of about $1,059 to get the Rift and PSVR ($599 for the Rift, $460 for PSVR), but hey I think VR is amazing. It's an expensive prospect, considering I'm paying more as an early adopter. But I've used the DK1 Rift and I enjoyed even that, so I'm really looking forward to the more polished and advanced consumer experience.

Funny... So mobile gaming is good enough for fanatic gamers like us?

Is it so hard to say something positive about Sony?

But then again, this is a silly article with a silly title, everyone can compare prices and know the answer immediately :)

Well now with the potential PS4K in the mix, it might change things. If PS4K makes the PSVR more enjoyable, then PSVR became much more expensive.

The only difference would be the resolution. I'm fine with 1080p 60fps and after experiencing it at PSX I'm sold.

I'm just saying that releasing an updated console that costs $400 or so, but plays PSVR better then PS4, is a kick in the balls to PS4 owners. If this is the new business plan of consoles, I'm joining those "PC Master Race people".

@ShadowNight
Question. How can the resolution get any higher then 1080p on PSVR?

GamingIVfun2983d ago

The resolution can't get any higher than 1080p with current PSVR.

It's a very good possibility that the rumored PS4.5 will just a PS4 with the PSVR external box built into it and maybe more USB ports.(Most likely to me if it PS4.5 exist).

I can finally watch pron, I mean watch pronouns be pronounced in PC VR games that were previously not available on Playstation.

crazyCoconuts63d ago

Profchaos63d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts63d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
