More piracy. I do not think its cool, when the console is still on the market. The games being emulated have sold Millions on Wii U, and rightfully so, they are amazing. I hope there is a lawsuit!

Those of you excited about this should be ashamed! Also it means you want to play Nintendo games, but are to cheap to buy a Wii U!

If you want to play Wii U in 4K get a TV with a Spatial upscaling engine. It makes a huge difference over 1080p.

herbs3365d ago

Emulation preserves gaming history... If you have a $1000+ rig that can run this and you already own the game than cudos, you should have every right to emulate.

Ol_G3365d ago (Edited 3365d ago )

Weakest excuses ever when we are talking about gaming history from last year.
Really shameful this exists and people who are happy about it

wonderfulmonkeyman3365d ago

Yeah, no.
Splatoon isn't old enough to qualify as "gaming history that needs preserving".
The system is still new.
GO BUY THE DAMN SYSTEM.

MatrixxGT3364d ago

You want to preserve it? Go to the store and buy a copy.

superchiller3365d ago

"I do not think its cool, when the console is still on the market."

But the Wii U is basically limping along on life support now, and production of the console is ending this year. There really isn't much of a reason to be upset, people emulating Wii U games were never going to buy the console or its games to begin with, and even Nintendo has pulled the plug and is moving on. Not a big deal at all.

wonderfulmonkeyman3365d ago

Dude, just f***ing stop.

You're using your hatred of the console to justify PIRATING ITS GAMES.

That's a disgusting new level of Nintendo hatred.

iplay1up23365d ago (Edited 3365d ago )

People should buy the console if they want to play Nintendo games. The reason 1st party Wii U games sell Millions, is because the sales are deserved.

Why should you have the right to play copyrighted material, that I pay for, and is still WIDELY AVAILABLE at any retailer. Limping along or not, the system has great software.
I do not have XB1, but I would not play an illegal emulated version of Halo 5. If I wanted to play it, now I would pick up an XB1 bundle.

Look SNES, NES, N64, heck even GameCube emulation is not as bad, but not a console readily available. If you want to play 1st party current gen games, buy the system, and support Video Game development!

sorenx3365d ago

no evidence for what you said

marloc_x3365d ago

By your reasoning, Vita emulation can't come soon enough schiller!

Philface3365d ago (Edited 3365d ago )

@Schiller: That is a classic once more. Have you thought about this before you wrote that comment because pirating games is a big deal. Always that blind hate.

ONESHOTV23365d ago

the dev bought his copy of the game were do you see a pirate.

Ck1x3365d ago

Omg how many times does this need to be explained? People are cheering this emulator on because they don't want to buy a WiiU to play WiiU games. But in order for this emulator to work you need a WiiU to dump the games on your computer unless you plan on obtaining the ROM data illegally...

hAkzor4203365d ago

Disclaimer I just made this account to post this. First oyu say "More piracy" this is a idiotic claim to make about this emulator because the creators in no way supports it nether do most of it followers. Second you do know on the WiiU you can use homebrew to run the same files that this emulator uses. So by your logic even owning the wiiu i causing piracy. Also if you rip the game your self (I assume this person did) how is that wrong? They own the game game and have the right to do what every they want with it besides selling and giving it away. Third if you think there is going to be a lawsuit over this emulator you must have a screw loose my friend because nintendo has never done anything like that to emulator creators. What would it be over "in sighting piracy" if so why doesn't nintendo do anything to the homebrew or dolphin creators? These people are not giving out the game just giving you the ability to run them. Before you say "you want to play Nintendo games, but are to cheap to buy a Wii U!" I do own a wiiu and all the games I chose to emulate and so do a majority of this emulators followers (they need a wiiu to rip their games). So stop trying to be a nintendo white night because this emulator is causing as much piracy as the people who play game dumps on their wiiu's.

MatrixxGT3364d ago

So you own the console and own the games...but choose to rip your games and play on emulator instead of the native platform?

Can't wait to see the final product. Keep up the good work ;)

higgins783365d ago

The 'final product' is the retail version which has been on sale for month and months now. The benefits being no semi-supercomputer is required AND free from bugs, glitches, etc, etc...oh, and hassle free, smooth and moreish online multi-player.

ONESHOTV23365d ago

i would have bought one a long time ago if i had interest in it same goes for the ps4 i'm not paying 200$ for 2 games.

Philface3365d ago

If you want to play the game go buy it.

ONESHOTV23365d ago

yeah i know buy the game so i can emulate it at a better quality smart idea.

Philface3364d ago

Oneshot you should buy the console as well of course. Don't be so ignorat.

higgins783365d ago

I notice its always Wii U games which people appear desperate to 'port'...no love for those essential XB1/PS4 exclusives? Figures.

Ol_G3365d ago

They all want to play Nintendo games but paying for it is obviously a step too far no game preservation if were talking about last year games but openly pirating a companies ip's and everybody seems happy about it cause it's Nintendo

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3364d ago

They secretly love Nintendo. They are just too delusional and dense to notice.

Ck1x3365d ago

Boy that was an amazing 60fps video there!
Everything sure is running amazing on this emulator.../s

Splatoon 2 will be out on the NX before they can get this emulator running WiiU games close to normal on a high end system.

LOL_WUT3365d ago

Yet, people made fun of the MK8 emulator. A lot of people said it would take forever to get it to work as it was only able to display the menu. I say give it some time ;)

Ck1x3365d ago

Oh so people are widely playing MK8 on this emulator already? I didn't think so!
What they've showed off of any of these games looks considerably worse than what the game does on WiiU currently. Sounds like a lot of wasted time a talent on a dead consoles games ;)

Why Is Splatoon So Popular In Japan?

How, exactly, did Splatoon reach heights rivalled only by Pokémon in Japan? New IPs from the House of Mario appear as often as shiny Pocket Monsters, yet typically move comparatively mediocre numbers or fall into relative obscurity behind the premium marques of Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Pokémon. Take Pikmin and ARMS, for example, which we adore but struggle to compete with the tentpole franchises when it comes to sales numbers or mainstream mindshare.

So, again, how has Splatoon risen to become one of Nintendo's most important series in Japan?
