Here's a look at the Gears Of War Ultimate Edition 4K Benchmark tool which gives gamers the chance to see how well their PC can hold up when tailoring the settings.

So...you need a £500 GPU and a £200 CPU plus 16GB of ram, a good case, cooling, a descently sized SSD...oh..and a PSU.....Thats a bout £1000 to play gears at 4K and roughly 35FPS......Maybe its just me, but I think most people will still go for the £200 console that they can play the game at 1080P-60FPS on, with their freinds.

PC can play the game at 1080P-60FPS whereas Xbox One can't play at 4K. Also not sure why you said "with their freinds" as if you can't play with friends on PC.

Really? let me help you out bruh.....People round here were saying that gamers will just skip an xbox to play these games...but obviously that wont be the case because the avarage gamer could just about afford a 980Ti, let alone the rest of the computer to house it.....Was that really not clear to you, from what I was saying?

Riiight...and how much more wdo you have to spend than an xbox to get that 1080P and 60FPs? also...how many people actually have a PC that can output 4K? not many according to steams own serveys..infact..less than 0.8% own something better than a 560Ti according to the SAME exact steam survey...so who is REALLY playing at 4K? I have heard people say they look forward to playing this at 4K 60FPS on lesser cards...explain that one to me, after this article PROVES that that simnply would not be the case....

LOL....enlighten me then...I just came to see what type of specs you would need to run this game at better than console settings. Obviously my 970 in combination with a core i7 2600K wont get me 4K at 60FPS, and I spent just over £3400 on that PC ( I have two by the way, and primarily use them for music production..hence the higher than average specs...Pro Tools and cubase require powerful PCs to run smoothly..I could run reason 8.0 on a laptop fairly decently, but generally speaking, low powered computers are a no go for me). in the process I realised it costs more than the price of an xbox to run this game at 1080P and 60FPs....Just pointing that out...

And LOL at the disagrees....You guys must have secret sauce in your GPUs that the rest of us dont have.

A) nobody will be playing this in 4K@60FPS like so many claimed because its obviously not possible on most GPUs...is that a lie? What part of what Im saying is confusing you?

B) most cannot afford the 4K expereince and have been caught out lying because the same people were claiming they could play gears at 60FPS and 4K while quoting lower specs than what this article suggests..... What part of that is confusing to you?

I am SPECIFICALLY referring to the hordes of 'gamers' on here that asserted that people who were in the market to buy an xbox would buy a PC instead. Im not saying PC gamers should play those games on xbox...Thats a completely different thing to what im saying...All Im saying is that little simon isnt going to be getting a 970ti and a core i7 for xmas...neither is casual gamer carl...He runs a mile aat the mention of "PCI slots" and "SLi"...yet people on here were making the asserion that people will sudeenly be playing QB on their W10 dell laptops at xbox like settings..simply not true.

I think "hot hatch" would be a better description of consoles...but guess what...they are more affordable to the average joe than a sports car..so thats what most of them buy...same applies to console....difference is PC gaming and gamers are seen as more like this..so I think the sports car thing is a bad example, outside of power differences:

PC gaming is only desirable to PC gamers. Everybody else can think of better uses for a desktop. Most people have gotten to the point where their tablets do all they ever needed a PC for. I make music on mine. It even pays the bills. So while you bought a sports car...you aint really driving it like a pro. you're just into paying lots of money to play computer games.

Lets be honest though...how many times are you gonna play the campaign for it to be an issue. I played it once...got into MP and never looked back. Most gears fans, play the game online and having 60FPS where it counts, matters.

Yeah but you can't play 1080/60 on campaign on Xbox One, for that you need a PC. I agree 4K with these cards is still a little too far for 60fps, but a console can barely keep 30fps on Gears ultimate campaign,I know because I play it. The MP is 60 but campaign is only 30 & it's jarring. I play my PC games at only 1080p as I play with an elite controller on my TV, but 1080/60fps with ultra settings on my PC is so much better than any console version. Not having a go, I've got an Xbox one.

According to a Steam survey, about 0.07% of gamers play games at 4K.

Thus, the point isn't how absurd everything can be to WOW! people, it's to point out how demanding the game is on one of the highest available setups. Otherwise known as "how much painstaking time and detail Devs have put into the game".

Also, there are tons of articles on how to build cheap PCs to play current AAA games at 1080p @60fps.

Yeah, MS really ef'd over the PC community with this shitty port. No local co-op is a big disappointment, as is no SLI support. I should be able to get 4k 60 FPS with my 2 980tis, but instead I get about 40ish FPS. Also, my fiancé cannot play with me, and would need to buy a copy herself to play co-op locally (her on her laptop, me on my desktop). Which, we could still be in the same room doing, btw. However, that is BS. We should have local co-op. It is possible on PC, but Devs don't give a shit about it. It's a real shame, and I'm sad I purchased this POS port.

Ok, Your logic is severely flawed and you're not understanding what those people were saying.

They were saying people who have YET to buy an Xbox one will skip the system if they have a capable PC... and considering the fact that the 970 is the most popular card on steam survey, most PC gamers DO have the hardware capable of running this game just fine...

So yes... Them bringing this game to PC... A platform where MOST can run this BETTER than the Xbox... WILL result in less consoles moved.

Fact of the matter is you can buy an xbox for £200...Fact of the matter is a you cant buy a PC for £200 that can play these games at 1080P/60FPS. infact you can only buy the capable GPU for that money...so that means the xbox is still the cheaper and more efficient solution at a lower price point..which appeals to casuals and console gamers. This game still stutters on my GTX 980. For the gamer's that already own a gaming PC and are interested in this game you should wait for a patch update before buying.

Well that goes without saying on PC... I've always taken a step back with every single new release until a decent patch is released, be that for legit gameplay bugs or simple performance cons. Common knowledge dude! :)

The game works just fine on AMD cards now. I just finished my first play through about an hour ago. The stuttering is gone.

yea it does sucks that even my 980 ti cant do 60fps 1080p on tombraider and noone can lie about that. you can max out the graphics but display has fxaa and up and fxaa is the highest id go for a pleasent gameplay. 55fps to low 40's. 60 fps will never stay 60 thats what fake pcers pretend to have.

I have 2 980ti and with the SLI tweak, you can get a steady 60 FPS "most of the time" however, it does seem to randomly drop to the 30-40 range sporadically. The game is poorly optimized for sure.
