New Gamer Nation:
This might be the most accessible Street Fighter game to date. Capcom has once again taken the fighting game genre to a new level when it comes to gameplay mechanics. Combos are simplified and the execution of special moves have become easier to input. It’s a welcome change to the execution heavy Street Fighter 4. It also introduces new mechanics that I found much more enjoyable than in the previous game. Fighting games are all about the fighting. This is exactly what Street Fighter V excels at, however, the lack of modes at launch is a bit of a letdown.
There are roughly three modes in Street Fighter V besides training mode. Survival which sets you up against a preset lineup of opponents with varying difficulties. The higher the difficulty becomes, the longer the gauntlet of fighters. In between each match, players can spend points they earn through fighting to help them stay in the fight longer. Survival mode is the closest thing to an arcade mode in Street Fighter V. The story mode fleshes out individual characters through 3 single round fights. The “story” part of it comes in between with some still images and dialogue. The stories are absurd and some are downright silly. I won’t spoil of any of the hilarious dialogue, but know that it fell into the “it’s so bad, it’s good” category for me. These two modes round out the single player components of the game. While there, of course, is a versus mode to play against a friend, the single player content is extremely lacking.
Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.
Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.
SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.
SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.
I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.
Street Fighter documentary 'Here Comes a New Challenger' is now available for all, following a successful crowd funding campaign.

Round One: FIGHT!!
Pretty balanced review, not sure I agree with the score. I'm also a little disappointed with the lack of content at launch and no store.
However, it's kind of tough to get a feel for a game when so much of the content isn't being released at launch.
