GamerKnights have done a full review of the new fighting game "Street Fighter V" by Capcom. Any good or just the same over and over again?
More:
"Fights are a fantastically paced affair that makes every action and reaction an important decision. Rather than locking into a long combo and letting muscle memory do the talking, Street Fighter V asks you pay attention, take your time and not do anything rash. To outsiders it might seem slow paced, but inside the fight is, more often than not, a tense battle that relies on mind games, zoning and split-second decision making as much as it does dexterity and reaction time."
Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.
Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.
SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.
SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.
I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.
Street Fighter documentary 'Here Comes a New Challenger' is now available for all, following a successful crowd funding campaign.
By Jason Monroe: Join me as I rank the best Street Fighter games of all time, taking into account their impact on the genre, gameplay mechanics, character rosters, and overall fun factor. Let’s get into it…
Round One: FIGHT!!
Fair review. I'd give the game a 7.5 in its current state.
If you know the game (like if you know how to play SFIV or Fighting games) you can get it now. If you are a noob, wait till June. Unless you're fine with learning the game just by playing online
Capcom totally mess up with all the Arcade, Training, Story modes, but damn! they sure know how to make a fighter. The gameplay feels just about right; so much fun!
SFV is gonna rule the fighting scene once again, and it would be the crowning jewel of EVO this year. The true one and only king of fighters: Shoryuken my friend!
It was just unfinished.. shouldve been delayed a month so all the modes were available..
7.5 or 8/10 because of all that.. IDK why they'd do something so stupid.
I just hope this precedent doesn't become contagious to other fighting games. I mean if you went to any of your retailers and paid them 20 dollars now but tell them "Its okay you'll be back with the difference in June", they won't give you a copy so I am not going to feel more sympathetic for minuscule content.
8 is way too generous for this half baked game. I'm a fan from the second game on, but Arcade mode has always been my favorite part of the game and where I like to train before taking on real players. With no arcade mode, this is a no buy for me. I'll stay with USF4 until when and if 5 is updated to a full SF game.
