Street Fighter V CheatCC Review

It's a little short on content out of the box, but Street Fighter V blew away our expectations. Without a doubt, this is going to be the number one fighting game for tournament play this generation.

Hoffmann3359d ago

These high praising reviews are a bad joke.

SF4 launched with 25 characters

SF5 only launched with 16

SF5 is only getting 6 DLC characters in 2016 = 22 characters within the first year compared to 25 from a game launched in 2008.

Not liking that.

Hoffmann3359d ago

That you have to play the game for a ton of hours to have enough zennys to get the additonal characters is even more worrying. Capcom did not change after all, they are just using different strategies now to milk their game(r)s.

SoapShoes3359d ago

SF3 launched with much less characters than the alpha games and is considered one of the best. If content is what makes a fighting game great I guess Guilty Gear Xrd sucks and KOF14 is going to be the best fighter of modern day.

Malphite3359d ago

Characters in SFV are all very unique though. There are arguably more different playstyles with those 16 characters than there were with the 25 characters from SFIV.

KaoSouL3359d ago (Edited 3359d ago )

Practically no single player content, watered down characters with no flare, and you can't even stay connected to the network long enough to finish the easy survival ladder.

NitroPlus Blasterz was a budget fighter, and it has more content, story, and gameplay.

Worst launch ever Capcom!

XtraTrstrL3359d ago

I disagree on the gameplay and characters comment. Everything else is true though. I'm afraid to play more than Easy Survival(10 matches) because I don't want it to throw me out when it loses connection. I only did Ryu's Survival so far, and everyone's story, since it saves after each match for story. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have more than 2-3 stories done, cuz it disconnected that often.

A super huge main issue is the fact that you can't earn any FM/EXP for anything when you aren't connected to CFN, so that's gonna be a b*tch going forward if CFN doesn't suddenly become super reliable. I dunno if I'll ever go for the 30-50-100 Survival Modes to unlock alt colors, it's too risky with the reliability of CFN currently.

KaoSouL3359d ago (Edited 3359d ago )

The Gameplay seams so slooooow and everything screams "newb level" to me. Maybe I'm just jaded from fast pace stuff like KI, N+, BB, and GG.... but I've played tons of SSIV over the past 2 months getting ready for SFV.... and now that it's here, all I see is a game that took one step forward with graphics and 2 steps back on gameplay.

rainslacker3359d ago

Are you saying that what little SP content there is still requires you to connect to the servers to play?

XtraTrstrL3359d ago

@rainslacker, you can still play Survival or Story offline, but you won't get any FM/EXP. So, it's kind of pointless, unless you're just trying to unlock the stuff, but the Survival Mode's harder levels are 30-50-100 matches, so that's tons of FM/EXP you're missing out on if you play offline. So, it's basically locked behind online in that sense. I think you still keep the alt colors you unlock in Survival if you play offline, but still makes sense to only do it online.

Vandamme213359d ago

I'm very disappointed that this game doesn't have an arcade mode

Jag-T10003359d ago

I give this game a 10 out 10 because I'm in love with ChunLi. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Thats like the best review of SFV out yet.

Street Fighter 5: Analysing a Tarnished Legacy

Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.

Terry_B485d ago

Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.

SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.

SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.

kevco33484d ago

I've had every Street Fighter on launch since SFII on the SNES. SFV is definitely my least played of them all.

SF6 is very good. You should give it a second look.

Terry_B484d ago

Maybe in 2-3 years when there is a version that has characters I care for.

So far there is not one of the new characters I like..and my favourite 4 are not a part of it either. (Bison, Balrog, Sagat and Vega) + the whole hip hop style and the crappy music turned me totally off.

Looking forward a lot to Tekken 8.

Sano24484d ago

SF4 vanilla was loved by most and and not considered a misstep. It wasn't until they went revision crazy that people started turning on Capcom.

Terry_B484d ago

Don't remember the criticques it got for the big hands and feet, the sometimes weird looking faces, the lame boss (Seth) and that so many characters were shotos and yup..the many new versions. Just every SF got its haters no matter how good it was.

Nerdmaster484d ago

It was criticized for the first trailers having an interesting art style with those ink splashes, but the real game had none of that and people felt cheated. And Capcom decided to add some of those effects in the game later because of the backlash. But I don't remember any other big complaints about it.

EvertonFC484d ago

I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.

CrimsonWing69484d ago

I dunno, I like Street Fighter 5 quite a bit. 🤷‍♂️

Shiro173483d ago

Sf6 is the best sf since sf4ae lol
