From the Review: "It's confession time: after playing Ubisoft's abysmal racer, GT Pro Series, we didn't have high expectations for Monster 4x4. In fact, we were expecting to have an even worse time. Maybe it was the box art. Whereas GT Pro Series features an image of a slick race car against a stark white background, Monster 4x4's box features a cartoonish monster truck with ridiculously oversized wheels.
Yes, we're aware of the old adage that warns against judging the relative merits of a book based solely on its outside cover but putting the two side by side, it's hard not to think that GT Pro Series would offer the better experience. And since we already knew just what kind of experience GT Pro Series offeredit wasn't a good one, that's for sureyou couldn't blame us for expecting to be completely and utterly underwhelmed by Monster 4x4.
Well, color us wrong. Not only is Monster 4x4 a better game--not a difficult feat considering how awful GT Pro Series was--it's also good enough to stand on its own relative merits. First, Monster offers vastly better control scheme than GT Pro. It doesn't have the level of sophistication to satisfy a racing geek's tastes but it is perfect for the Wii neophyte who is still trying to get a grasp on the Wii Remote's unique capabilities..."

Gamebosh: "Most racing titles have you go around a variety of tracks, fending off other vehicles in an attempt to come first, but many of Monster 4x4 World Circuit's tracks look almost identical and you'd have to be Alan Partridge to come anything other than first. This is a sequel of sorts to the old PS2 game Monster 4x4: Masters of Metal and was ported from the Xbox in 2006 to cash in on the new Nintendo Wii console at launch.
Playing Monster 4x4 World Circuit reminds you a lot of Excite Truck - another early truck racing game for the Wii - and feels like the trial run for that game. The difference being that Excite Truck (released three months later) is far more fun, has better graphics and more to do, while World Circuit has dull graphics, samey tracks and worst of all, it's so easy that you'll complete everything within a few hours."

The most important rating is that Lost Plant scored a full 6 points higher than Motorstorm. That is so huge. Sony has really been pushing Motorstorm as a reason to buy a PS3.
Yeah, 30/40 for Motorstorm is definitely not good news. That is like a 75/100 here. 75 for Motorstorm?? The last time I checked, when a game got a 75 rating that meant it sucked. I thought this was supposed to be the killer app that sold more consoles. You don't sell consoles with 75 scores. Lost Planet got the equivalent of a 90.
Motorstorm is sooo awesome, NOT. I guess it doesn't look or play well like all of the other PS3 games.
Does anybody know how they score the games and in which order for catagories, e.g sound , graphics
There are 4 people reviewing the game and each scoring the game out of 10. The 4 scores get added together to givea total out of 40. Hope that helps. :)
3.3/5.0 .... I'm having a little hardtime adapting to how wii games are rated. If this game would be on the PS3 or the 360 it would be considered a piece of crap; but since it's is the wii it gets special treatment. I have a wii and including this game and this game sucks.

Fine if game reviewers are afraid of giving honest review because "everyone loves the wii" and it has a wiimote and motion censitive is "fun" how about giving 5/5 in control and a 1 or less on everything else. It is unfair that a game that looks and sounds like a 8 year old game. I think game rating should be consistant across platforms(consoles) in order to help people that do not know much about console specs and hardware and/or have multiple consoles and would like to know for which console to buy it for. Or better yet, give a crossplatform score and a wii score that considers the hardware limitations.
