Hey Poor Player's Francis DiPersio writes - "Sony’s handheld workhorse may not have gotten a lot of love from major publishers in 2015, but it still managed to have one of its best years yet, receiving a wealth of superb releases such as Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, Ar Nosurge Plus: Ode to an Unborn Star and many more thanks to the likes of a handful of developers who supported the system throughout the year. Thankfully for Vita owners, it looks like 2016 is poised to be another banner year for the platform. Here are five of the games we’re most excited to toss into Sony’s portable powerhouse in 2016."
The Mako Reactor says: “Everything you need to know about getting into the Atelier franchise from best place to start to every new release covered on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.”
Excellent article! This franchise is amazing I started around the Vita games and have been playing since. But for the newer releases I have lagged behind in purchasing due to my backlog. This great comprehensive article got my bearings straight thanks!
I always hear good stuff about the Atelier series, but with so many games I didn't feel like actually researching. So this article was a good read, and I may buy Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book in the near future.
Atelier Ryaza is looking like it’s going to be the breakout game for the franchise.
The PlayStation Vita has become a haven for RPGs, but there is one particular type that has really made itself at home on the system. People who love first-person dungeon-crawlers with turn-based battles and often customizable parties can find tons on the system. Developers like Experience and Compile Heart have taken to the system. This means people who enjoy level grinding and customizing characters have plenty of options to choose from when looking for a new game to play.
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "On 28th October 2015 an interesting shift happened in the market for physical collectors on Vita. A small spin-off from the development studio Mighty Rabbit Games released its first physical game - Breach & Clear - which managed to sell out of all 1,500 copies that had been printed within a few seconds, sparking the birth of a company that would release an unprecedented 34 further titles within two years.
I recently had the chance to interview one of the founders - Douglas Bogart - to find out how the business had grown, how the Vita factors into their plans going forward, and what he thinks about the ever-growing market for indie physical releases as a whole."
I still own a shrink wrapped copy of their original run of Breach and Clear. :) Since then I've bought several of their releases.
Making me excited to get one next week!
Still no racing games, I want western RPGs :(
Ray Gigant looks great.
I'm looking forward to God Eater 2: Rave Burst. Finally.
