How to repair Power Armor in Fallout 4: Easily repair your Power Armor and get back into the action

We love Fallout 4 and all it offers, especially with regards to customisation - weapons, amour, Power Armor, settlements and more can be customised to your personal preferences. But what happens when you damage your Power Armor? Here, we show you how to easily repair your Power Armor and get back into the action.

Fallout 4 is one of the biggest and most highly rated games of 2015, with one gamer threatening to sue Bethesda because of a three-week Fallout 4 binge which cost him his marriage and his job – but that’s another story. We love Fallout 4, and especially just how customisable the game is; you can customise your weapons, armour and Power Armor (we’re aware that this is the American spelling of armour, but it’s how it’s written in-game!) for your style of gameplay.

Anybody using the power armor at all?

-Foxtrot3063d ago

Not really. The fact they are making them using power cores ALL OF A SUDDEN is a turn off for me.

I just collect them and store them in my Power Armour house.

Is it actually explained why they suddenly use Power Armour or why they changed all the energy weapons ammo...kind of off putting.

thekhurg3063d ago

Cause it's broken and overpowered so they had to find a way to stop players from using it forever by default.

-Foxtrot3063d ago

Then make it rare to find and only allow it if your strength is high enough

Problem solved

TwoForce3063d ago

Really ? I find power Armors is really badass in Fallout 4. I like it better than Fallout 3. Power Armors in Fallout 3 was so slim, you walk like normal person. In this game, they make Power Armors to be more bulky and unstoppable. Power Armors suppose to be walking tank.

Phunkydiabetic13063d ago

Power armor makes way more sense now than it ever did in all the previous Fallout games. It was kinda stupid to be carrying around power armor the same as regular armor.

-Foxtrot3063d ago

@Phunkydiabetic1

Yeah but Fusion Cores...they've never needed them, why start now.

Just make it so they are really rare to find and you need to boost your strength/get a perk to use them.

kneon3063d ago

Sounds like me, I have a floor of my settlement dedicated to power armor storage. Since I almost never use them I've got over 150 fusion cores, they aren't that hard to find.

Elwenil3063d ago

I use my Power Armor, usually my jet-pack'd X-01 suit, when I need to go into a lot of radiation or need to jump around to get places easier. Most of the time I run around without the armor though. At first it was due to them using Fusion Cores and I was worried about running out but now I have over 30 suits and close to 400 Fusion Cores so I could use it all the time if I wanted but I got used to running around without it.

In addition to that for whatever reason, I can carry more without my armor than I can with it. It doesn't make much sense so it may be a bug, but either way it doesn't matter much once you have the Fast Travel while overburdened perk.

All in all, I don't mind the Fusion Core use though I was surprised at the rate the Gatling Laser uses them. I think it's cool that I can find and collect the armor that was always such a big deal in the older games. With the one merchant that sells Power Armor parts, frames and Fusion Cores, there isn't much reason to run out but you usually don't find that until later in the game. So while the Fusion Core use does limit the Power Armor a bit, especially considering they give you a full suit right at the very beginning of the game, it's not really a huge issue once you get farther in the game. I don't think I would have had much fun if I had unlimited Power Armor from day one.

More on topic, did anyone really need this article to tell you how to repair your armor? I thought that was pretty self-explanatory.

gaffyh3063d ago

I though this story was some sort of glitch we didn't know about. Can't believe it just explains a game mechanic.

Next up, How to shoot in Fallout 4, press right trigger.

I literally built a Bat-Cave in Sancutary full of different power armor suits lined up. I'm up to 18 units now and counting. It looks amazing! I'm surprised more people aren't doing it...

When I do use the armor itself it comes in handy, but usually it is torn to shreds within minutes of a heavy battle. Especially anything supermutant-y or assault-tron-based.

-Foxtrot3063d ago

See I don't see why Bethesda don't include pre set homes which have stands and the like for weapons and armour.

Some people did the Unique weapon and armour stands in houses built up for them in the Nexus Mod page. I just don't see why Bethesda don't do it themselfs they know people like to collect stuff.

nveenio3063d ago

I have a collection going. Never wear the things. They just slow me down and aren't much better than my ballistic weave armor since I'm target practice in the power armor. I just got done putting about 50 hours into the game before beating it, and now I'm starting character number two.

sk8ofmnd3063d ago

I beat the entire game without using it much. I used it to get passed some heavilly radioactive portions and seldomly at that. Even when i ventured to the far south east i just used my drugs to stay in the game. Im finding out that there are many upgrades for the power armor and im like whaaat... News to me

GusBricker3063d ago (Edited 3063d ago )

In the beginning, no, but after the whole Mirelurk Queen boss at the Castle, yup, I was severely under leveled and that fight was a pain and power cores are easy to get in all honesty.

Plus, I'm a loot whore and if you upgrade your power suit enough you can carry close to 500lbs.

RoboRob3063d ago

I thought the article on repairing power armor was great! I've been playing the game since it was released and nowhere at anytime does the game mention anything about repairing power armor. I didn't think it was "self explanatory" at all. I've approached a power armor station quite a few times and not once did I see an on screen prompt about repairing it. I found the article informative and appreciate it when people take the time to elaborate on some of the games mechanics and details!

I'm waiting for "How to launch Fallout 4" article

ZaWarudo3063d ago

I thought this was another Twinfinite article.

N0TaB0T3063d ago

I wonder what happened to the Recon suits, though. I thought they were petty cool. Unless the BoS outfit is meant to be the same thing then no beef.

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl5d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis5d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits5d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast5d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast5d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead5d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
