The List Of Xbox One Backward Compatibility Games Is Now Available

Major Nelson:
Ever since we announced Backward Compatibility was coming to Xbox One the number one question I get asked is, “What games are going to be available?” That question has finally been answered.

Today Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management for Xbox, announced the first 104 titles coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility when the feature launches as part of the New Xbox One Experience on 12 Nov.

Finally the list leaked few games ago was really fake. There are many similarities but many differences too.

Abash3516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

I set my hopes too high, a lot of the games from the leaked list that I wanted are not there

3516d ago
USMC_POLICE3516d ago

Agreed I wanted most wanted 2005 :( and black ops 1

AngelicIceDiamond3516d ago

They need to put Ninja Blade and Soul Calibur 5 on their.

This how I see it The PS4 is the most powerful console, the Wii U the most innovative and the X1 the flexible console.

CitizenFour3515d ago

Yeah the list is a little disappointing to be honest..
but with that being said, all the Games with Gold will be playable on the One.. so maybe they will start releasing old AAA games for Games with Gold?
Either way, I hope they bring more games to the table over time, as this list doesn't overly excite me.

donthate3515d ago

I'm surprised CoD:Black Ops is coming!

Most of the Halo games are missing too, so I'm expecting it to come later. Glad Halo Wars and entire Bioshock trilogy (if you may) is coming though.

Hoping for Dead Space trilogy, ME2 & 3, Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden 2 and I can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure there are more.

Monster_Tard3515d ago

@Donthate "I'm surprised CoD:Black Ops is coming!"

Me too, I'm also surprised it's not BO2 instead seeing as more people were asking for it.

freshslicepizza3515d ago

impressed to see call of duty, i would have thought they would be against it

APexGamer453515d ago (Edited 3515d ago )

Mostly arcade and MS games. It seems like publishers are not going for it.

muzikjunkie803515d ago

donthate

why would halo need to be on the list when halo 1-4 is on the MCC?

LCEvans3515d ago

yeah I hope lost odyssey makes it eventually!

Crimzon3515d ago

Yeah, I was excited for a good list because backwards compatibility has me interested in buying an Xbox this holiday season if I can find a good deal, but the list of games is really underwhelming.

Gears of War 3 is great obviously, but I was really hoping to see games like Burnout Revenge, SSX, Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Modern Warfare 3 etc. on this list. Instead, it's a lot of arcade games and underwhelming titles which just has me confused as to how they could consider this a good lineup to launch with. I mean it's great that they're trying obviously and it was enough to get me interested, but the offerings are disappointing to say the least.

Everyone has different tastes of course but if Microsoft had provided a better list they'd have sold an Xbox to me.

Unspoken3514d ago

Is this list of backwards compatibility not going to expand?

FACTUAL evidence3516d ago

Aaaand I'm mad there's no alan wake or lost odyssee. Only more to come i guess.

Shazz3516d ago

yeah im surprised no alan wake in there

Christopher3516d ago

They might be holding that back to make the whole "Get Quantum Break and Alan Wake digital" deal for when the game releases. Putting it out now would kinda lessen the impact that has overall.

Farmassy3516d ago

I can't believe that there is no SHadowrun. They had it in their original graphic as a bc game and now its not on the list. I really want to play it on my xbox one

mikeboccher3516d ago

Lost Odyssey and multiuple disc games can't be added

bleedsoe9mm3516d ago

seems like there might be an announcement for alan wake 2 coming soon so it would probably make sense to give it away with the new game

JasonKCK3515d ago

I think Christopher is right. I think some BC titles will be used in promotional marketing. Get so and so game on X1 and get a free game kind of thing.

Christopher3515d ago

***Lost Odyssey and multiuple disc games can't be added***

Has nothing to do with disc quantity. Has to do with what games are already on XBL store and what isn't. It has to exist digitally previously to make it.

whoyouwit043515d ago

I'm pretty sure there saving that for the quatum break launch. or even possibly a remake who knows.

Damn, you can stream your XBox 360 games to the PC as well. Didn't realize that. Pretty cool. This B/C is turning out to be really awesome. I just can't wait to move many of my digital games over so I can delete them off my XBox 360. I think "Torchlight, Shadow Complex and the Monkey Island games will be the first Indies I move over.

ZombieKiller3515d ago

I'm really trying to justify buying an xbox one and I thought that this list would help but it doesn't. With all the games that already came out this year, I almost have too much play and on a next gen system. I think this is still really cool and maybe one day when they add to the list I'll consider.

Still this is really awesome to see them do this. I hope the list gets bigger AND FAST!

CartBlanche3515d ago

Good to see the Gears lot on there.
Lots of Arcade games too.
Bastion is conspicuous by its absence.

RiseofScorpio3516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

Quite underwhelming but remember they will add more each month including Call of Duty!

"Our launch of 104 titles on Nov. 12 is just the beginning. You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. Stay tuned because this just the beginning of a long list of Xbox 360 games that will run on Xbox One."

I know I'll be busy with Stick of truth.

Gazondaily3516d ago

Its missing quite a few key titles and highly requested ones such as Red Dead Redemption and Lost Odyssey. Stick of Truth is a touch though.

I reckon we will get loads of backwards compatible games for free for EA titles with EA Access.

81BX3516d ago

Yeah, i believe this is s good list but they will release those via games with gold. From a business stand point its smart. If your free xb1 game for the month is kind of lame, no worries... we have cod or red dead on bc this month as well.

MrSwankSinatra3516d ago

Red Dead Redemption is not going to happen, so you can just forget about that one.

KilKarazy3516d ago

I think Red dead will happen but later down the line as a hype builder for red dead 2

3-4-53515d ago

they did say "hundreds more " coming later.

MrSwankSinatra3515d ago (Edited 3515d ago )

Rockstar beats to their own drum, they've never been the developer to stick to the past. They're always moving forward and considering that Rockstar is probably going to come with a new RDR. Rockstar obviously sees no point in allowing RDR to be backwards compatible on Xbox One. What monetary gain does Rockstar get by allowing RDR to be BC on X1? Zero....

GoPanthers9993515d ago

If true on EA Access, that would be awesome in my book. Except, no old sports titles, ugh.

Automatic793516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

I think its a great list to kick the back compatible games. 104 games to kick it off impressive. I saw some games on that list that are awesome and I know I want to go back too.

christocolus3516d ago

I'm happy to see stick of truth on the list and nice to know they'll be adding cod:blackops later. I hope Red dead and lost odyssey make the december cut.

Christopher3516d ago

So jealous now... Stick of Truth. Such a great game.

Umbasa3516d ago

We have to wait till Dec for more like Reach? Man my son is gonna be sad when i tell him. We were under the idea that this list would have Reach :(

gangsta_red3515d ago

MS isn't going to get everyone's favorite 360 game on the first try and more than likely they'll be saving the bigger, heavier hitters for a filler announcement at their events or something similar.

It's all about the timing.

That being said I was really hoping Sonic All Star Racing was added since they have all the other Sonics available from Sega.

Jmanzare3515d ago

You have to remember this is all on the developers not Microsoft. If you don't see a game on the list that you want to be like red dead redemption that's on rockstar

Sweet One thing I want to know is dose this include DLC. For example I had Alan Wake with all the DLC dose this come across too?

mcstorm3516d ago

Sweet thinks for that info.

Shazz3516d ago

pretty poor list for me personally as ive got all the bigger titles on 360 , good to hear some of them are coming in december though.

I think Crackdown would fit in a more turn-based tactics system via Xcom then a RTS type game play. Being able to customize multiple agents, deploying that group in an crime infested urban zone, going against other super powered enemy and fodder type thugs. The potential for that is huge if they won't do another successful, ground breaking, GOTY open world outing like Crackdown 3....

P_Bomb834d ago

I could see that. I feel like State of Decay could spin-off into something strategic as well.

giovonni833d ago

Actually that would be kind of fly if they made it a turn base RTS.

lellkay471d ago

Crackdown tactics would be legit!!
