The Best Console Exclusive Games of All Time

BLG writes: "With streaming services, crossplay, and major studio acquisitions, console exclusive games are probably entering their twilight years. Everything is a lot more connected now, and so games that exist only on a single console are becoming increasingly rare. But let’s switch focus. No matter what the future holds, the console exclusive has a rich history, and we’re here to sort through the best of it."

If we are doing all time we have to give a tip of the hat to Mario Zelda Sonic Shinobi forget which number for genesis. Spyro spiderman final fantasy. But yeah there's tons and also Mario basically trump's them all. Either that or pac man. Mario is a cheat since Nintendo can't go a gen without him

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil33d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

Wayyy to many games to list but the first 3 that popped in my head.
1.Okami
2.ESPN NFL 2K5
3.GTA San Andreas

DarXyde194d ago

Good list, but I would replace Onimusha with a Onimusha 2.

Amplitude194d ago

Amplitude still holds up brilliantly

Agent75193d ago

I'd say Onimisha 2 and Turismo 4 was better. Maximo, Auto Modellista, Shox, Wipeout Fusion and pulse, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution to name a few.

piroh200d ago

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic199d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23199d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1199d ago (Edited 199d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger190d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.
